What a gorgeous little cottage! Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. A very well equiped kitchen with everything you need for a self catering stay. Personally, an air fryer would be a welcome addition.(but that's because I'm a rubbish cook and need all the help I can get ?).
Bedrooms comfortable and ensuites very stylish.
Location is good with easy access to Bernard Castle and Durham Cathedral.
We stayed over New Year and were made very welcome by everyone at The Red Lion, just a 3 minute walk down the road.
Great communication with the owner.
Highly recommended, we would definitely return.

This is a beautiful and comfortable cottage, spotlessly clean, with everything we needed for a happy holiday. The owners are helpful and great at providing the info you need. The beds are so comfortable - we slept really well, and woke to beautiful views - including a glimpse of the nearby ice cream parlour, which we visited several times! Easy parking. There's a lovely nature reserve nearby, gorgeous walks in Weardale, easy trip to Durham if you fancy that.

A truly lovely comfortable cottage in a beautiful location. Perfect as a base for meeting up with friends and family. We also enjoyed a couple of days just relaxing in the cottage. Really appreciated the small touches, tea, coffee, milk and a lovely bottle of wine when we arrived. We will definitely visit again and would highly recommend to others.

This is an absolutely stunning cottage in a beautiful area. The interior is the nicest of any airbnb/hotel I've ever stayed in. We arrived to a garden full of beautiful flowers with birds flying overhead, perfect for having a glass of wine in of an evening. The cottage was spotless and it was great to have a well equipped kitchen including dishwasher and the outside utilities with washing machine was so handy.

The area struck me as an undiscovered gem too, with great local pub The Joiners a lovely short walk away, the fields opposite starts a wonderful walk to the local nature reserve and new greenway walk make a great loop. Hartleypool headlands, crimdon beach, the Durham dales and seaham were all excellent and Beamish and Durham Cathedral made wonderful trips. Really can't fault this cottage at all and Marianne was an excellent host

What a lovely cosy warm cottage. A great place to chill and re-charge your batteries, but also a good base to stay if you want to get out and about. Has everything we needed, wifi, smart tv, comfy living area, full kitchen with dishwasher etc as well as being spotless and so fresh. Had a great weekend stay.
