We had afternoon tea here on a Saturday, and it was such a lovely experience. The interiors were beautiful, and we were seated overlooking the back gardens at the Fern Dining Room and Bar.

The patisserie, scones, and sandwiches were absolutely delectable. I especially loved the scones, but my favorite had to be the Malt Chocolate Choux Bun Patisserie it was incredible!

The only downside was that the service was a bit hit-and-miss. It took a while for the team to check in on us, and we had to wait at times to ask for something. But apart from that, everything was amazing. The location, the ambiance just beautiful. Definitely planning to come back!

Loved our stay here. Not sure where to begin, service was great, food delicious and surprisingly not overpriced. Bedroom very comfortable. Lovely building originally built in 1755 and extended in the 1800's. Lots of character and right on the edge of Jesmond Dene with its great walks, waterfalls, history and scenery. Looking forward to a return visit.

We went to Jesmond dene house & enjoyed an afternoon tea in the conservatory of Fern restaurant.|The food was exceptional as was the service. The staff were impeccable, so friendly, polite & attentive. It was the most wonderful experience. I had the vegan afternoon tea & my husband had the traditional & I have to say it was the nicest vegan afternoon tea I have ever had. When we phoned to book earlier in the day the lady advised that we would be looking at a later table than we had enquired about if we wanted afternoon tea because everything was made fresh so it would give the kitchen time to prepare everything. |We both absolutely loved everything, sandwich’s scones & treats & the staff were a real credit to Jesmond Dene House because we were looked after so well & we can’t wait to return!

Went for afternoon tea. Loved everything. The seating, atmosphere, food and even music selection (acoustic millennial music, quite impressed) loved my experience there. One of the best afternoon teas in the city. Will be back when the weather is warmer for sure..

I absolutely love photographing weddings at Jesmond Dene House! It’s such a gorgeous venue, tucked away in the trees but still right in the heart of Newcastle. The mix of elegant interiors and the lush greenery of Jesmond Dene makes it a dream for photos—there’s always a stunning backdrop just a few steps away.

If you’re after a venue that’s stylish, full of character, and surrounded by nature, Jesmond Dene House is definitely worth a look!

Stayed for 2 nights, cost £360. Slept poorly both nights for a few reasons:
- The hotel played loud bassy music played until 12am on one night. Possibly a wedding reception, but completely negligent of disruption to other guests. I'd maybe expect this of a city centre hotel, but not of a 'country house' type of hotel.
- Thin walls and creaky floors. We frequently heard the movements of other guests in the night, doors opening, etc, especially the guests above us.
- Just outside our window was some sort of ventilation unit, which was noisy during both nights.
- Overly firm mattress.

The room itself was nice enough, though small for the price. TV didn't work. Snacks left in the room are billed out of your deposit - again, an oddly cheap tactic for the price.

The location is great, as is the building itself and the common areas (lobby, bar etc.). However, these do not make up for the very high price and two poor nights of sleep. Won't be staying here again.

The four of us had a lovely lunch facing the garden. The chicken was succulent and fish cakes were tremendous.|The excellent service from Enid was a real winner though. Well done .|The Christmas pudding was well praised as moist snd luscious. |Beer battered cid was well cooked with amazing chips. |The environment was light and festive.

A lovely hotel with nice rooms, friendly staff and a nice restaurant menu. ||Our room was well furnished with tea/coffee making facilities along with a spacious bathroom which contained a large bath and overhead shower. ||The restaurant menu was plentiful and the food when served was good quality. ||The young guy behind the bar was both friendly and efficient as were the staff in reception.
