We recently had our wedding at the Belfry hotel and Johal was our caterer. The food was good but the service was poor. all the waiters were rushing to clean all the tables! There was no managers but only waiters. Our party was till 10:00pm but at 09:00pm all the tables were empty with no glasses and no drinks and we still had lot of guests. It was a small gathering of 150 people and still the service was 2/5.I won’t recommend

The professional standard at Johal has been great, with no issues regarding communication for me. They are very friendly, extremely fair on price and guarantee high standards with all their checks and health requirements for all venues in place. I feel like some of the comments are harsh and not necessarily reflective of the service. Food tasting was very generous and delicious.

Paid £1000 deposit with Johals. Due to lockdown the event didnt go place. We asked Johals to cater for a smaller event (30 people max was in place) they then put there prices astronomically (Michelin starred restaurants would have been cheaper) due to it being a smaller event. We asked for a refund, where majority of vendors had agreed to pay back deposits as they could not legally supply services during lockdown, Johals refused. After realising they were breaking the law they agreed to a refund but wanted a £250 fee for someone to log into there online account to process the refund (a 5 minute job). In the end they charged a £200 admin fee to issue the refund. You have got to be a business with very low morals to operate in such a way especially when most of the industry is acting in professionally. Would never use again and would not recommend dealing with such a money grabbing company.

Cant understand why so many bad reviews.
Love the food these guys do for the price.
Been using them for years and there probably the best price for ratio.
If you want to see better and pay then use Madus or Curry special
But for me its always Johals for catering parties.
They recently did my friends at the Marriot and my cousin sisters at the Mair hall and were 7/10

Considering the food was of a decently quality, their management team is awful, along with the staff members they employ.

I recently had an event whereby family members and friends witnessed Johal Catering staff members including the manager in charge nicking alcohol bottles off the table. This is not a service which you pay for. If staff had asked, we would have no doubt donated a few bottles. However nicking them is completely out of order.

When reported, all that was provided was a an apology. Not enough for the embarrassment caused from Johal Catering.

In conclusion, if you decide to have Johal Catering, lock your bottles away from their staff!

I used them for my wedding and would never recommend them to anyone. During the planning the manager kept saying she was on holiday which was a lie as the hotel contacted her during her 'supposed' holiday on my behalf as they were worried about the catering too. Someone saw one of the waiters take money from a table but I didn't follow this up after wedding as I just didn't want to deal with them again. I really thought Indian catering had improved in this day and age but not johal catering - they promise you everything before you pay your money and then offer a sub standard service afterwards.

Catered for a University Ball event - 10/10 food, was on time and excellent, everyone loved it! Also worked with us to provide alternatives for dietary requirements. Would use again!
