Jorvik House was a good experience. Although it was older and less modern than a modern hotel, it made up for this by its excellent location, directly across the street from the York Museum Gardens, one of the most beautiful city parks that I have ever seen. After a short walk through the park, you exited into the old city, the Shambles, and York Minster. Perfect for travelers who prefer not to rely on Uber or public transportation. The Hotel was also within walking distance of the York Train Station and the National Railway Museum.

Lovely place to stay very quiet and left to own devices its stunning location opposite church and next to a car park. And not far walk from the centre at all . There is a cost for breakfast and that's a delivery to your door. The fridges are full in the rooms of a mix of beer fresh oranges choclate crisps water . At a cost but it was nice to have a choice . We fully enjoyed time here beds was comfy rooms are hot but we got a fan in room.and asked for a another one which we got too .

Made a late booking to stay at Yorvik House in York and we we pleased with our choice. Stopped in room 12, front of building, lovely view of the church opposite. Cleanliness was good, nicely decorated, great bathroom, shower was really powerful especially to say we were on the top floor. No issues with noise from other rooms. The lady who checked us in & out was friendly and chatty. Really excellent stay, we loved it & we would stay again.

Booked 2 night stay did try to change it due to a family illness this was not accommodated by the manager. In our late arrival we were allocated a room without any windows this was not acceptable and nowhere on the website is it mentioned that a room does not have windows. We were upgraded to a very nice room very clean , good shower and facilities but the view was of a building site. The hotel is in a great location and very convenient for the train station.

This was our second visit to this lovely hotel. It's in a quiet location that is perfect for accessing the centre of York.|The rooms are well appointed and the staff are friendly and helpful.|Recommend Brew and Brownie for breakfast - it's just across the park.|

Loved this hotel! My room was quiet and relaxing - very calming with its Scandi decor. All the amenities in the room were excellent. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and hospitable and the location is perfect - a short stroll across the park and down to the river. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again if I had a repeat visit to York.

Returned today from a lovely visit to York staying at the Jorvik House Hotel. The staff were friendly upon arrival and at check out. ||We stayed in the Loft Suite which was very spacious, had a great size bathroom, lovely view over to the Museum Gardens and was very quiet. We did find that the style of blinds did let some light through, the mattress felt old as we could feel springs, the positioning of the TV wasn’t the best, and some walls could do with some attention to reflect the price of the room.||Great location, it is opposite the entrance to the Museum Gardens and only 5 minute walk into the centre of York. Close by is the train station and access on to the river cruise.||We parked at Marygate car park which is only behind the Hotel, 2 minute walk.||Breakfast was an option through the Hotel but we decided to walk into the centre, ate at a lovely cafe called Wheldrakes, opened at 8.30am!

Great stay at Jorvik House. Fantastic location just a short walk from railway station. A very warm welcome from a lovely lady who showed us to our room even though we were slightly earlier than check in time. Room very clean and cosy, comfy bed and pillows and a beautiful view of the Museum gardens. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again
