Had come here a couple of years ago to go light and had to have it redone due to issues with the colouring that happened in the salon; to which we eventually had to go back dark- I accepted that this was my fate and began to get extensions with Jamie. I was having 24 inch hair extensions which for the most point were very good albeit not the colour I wanted.
My appointments kept changing, most times I was booked in I received a message to state that my appointment had changed- I was understanding for the most part because I had once had to rearrange an appointment. I had over looked some issues because I liked Jamie; things like the young apprentice being very rough when blow drying my hair (hitting me in the face with brush) and the first stylist I had who had a very bad attitude and did whilst I was with Jamie, I think all in all the younger girls aren’t very welcoming. After going a few times for extensions I was told that Jamie was no longer working there and I had to have someone else do the work, I obliged because I just wanted the extensions out before the birth of my second child. They changed my appointment by calling me a couple of times and the third time it just changed and received an email via the booksy app. I decided to cancel and find someone else.
Well I did, since going to another salon I’ve realised that the standards I was receiving weren’t the standards I should be expecting with the price you pay.
I’m now nearly blonde after 2 sessions at my new salon and my hair looks great!

I came for a patch 48hrs before. They also recommended a strand test. On the day Jo introduced herself. My hair had been neglected for a while due to illness. It had remnants of a red dye along with my brown /grey roots so she worked really hard and 1st lightened my hair. Then rinsed off and applied the colour adding Olaplex 0 and 3 my hair wasn't what I had in mind but it exceeded my expectations. Thank you. It looks and feels so much better.

My son is five and autistic, we have been going to Katie Weeds for about a year and the two stylists who we normally see have been brilliant with him, very friendly and do their best to put him at ease and make him laugh. On our last visit, we had a new stylist who he wasn't familiar with and who didn't speak to him at all. My son became distressed and very nearly had a meltdown, however my partner calmed him and he stayed for the full appointment. After that, we tried to book appointments through their booking system, each one was rejected and then our account blocked. After I contacted them to see if there was an issue, the owner emailed me. Quite frankly her accusatory tone and lack of diplomacy was shocking. Not as I'd expect from a business like this. Looking through some of the responses to the reviews on here, I can see that we are not the only ones to receive this treatment. Rather than seek to understand the situation in depth, she accused my five year old son of being "abusive" and my partner of not supporting the stylist (his priority was ensuring my son was supported and to make him feel better, not the stylist). She made an appointment with the old stylist in some sort of effort to rectify the situation but I just can't continue to use a business that would rather vilify it's customers than understand them. I explained in an email about his condition and how he became distressed, this wasn't malicious attack on anyone as implied but the term "abusive"; this is a little boy trying to communicate how uncomfortable he was, but didn't receive any acknowledgement. It's a real shame after all of the hard work and the dedication of some of the salon staff. We have thankfully found a new Barber that appreciates their customers.

Been going to Katie Weeds for a couple of years now. On Tuesday 29th August I had my hair cut and blow dried for the first time by Alice. Always wary of having a different stylist but my goodness what a brilliant job Alice did, so a big thank you. Also today I was walking through Ashbourne and a lady walked past me and then came running back to me and said " where do you get your hair cut? It is beautiful .I told her she had made my day so I hope Alice sees this compliment and it makes her day .

DO NOT USE THIS SALON UNLESS YOU WANT ONE SYLIST DOING ONE SIDE AND A DIFFERENT STLIST HIGHLIGHTING THE OTHER SIDE ALL WITHOUT ANY DISCUSSION!
Having used this salon for many years, I am very disappointed with my recent experience, following the lovely Laura being on maternity leave.
I cancelled an appointment approximately three weeks prior to it and re-booked a new date. I then received two calls asking me if I could arrive half an hour earlier, to which I offered to rearrange a new date as I was not able to arrive any earlier. When I arrived, TWO stylists began highlighting my hair, one each side of my head. Just imagine the results had I let them continue! I had specifically requested a senior stylist for my appointment yet they wanted to make up for lost time!
The stylist then did not leave my highlight colour in for as long as Laura always did. I mentioned this at the time to the stylist who assured me the colour had taken.
It’s now 3 weeks following my appointment and my roots are so dark and now much more obvious that I rang and spoke to the owner who informed me that I would need to pay for it to be corrected and informed me that as ‘I had not showed up for an appointment, ‘it was swings a roundabouts’!!…I have never not showed up for any appointments during the 6 years I have been using this salon. I also very rarely write reviews, however, this experience has compelled me to do so.

My reply to the below response is-
I was happy when leaving the salon as my roots were lifted during blow drying. It wasn’t until three weeks later that the dark roots looked really bad (as they had lightened slightly but not as much as my hair below) Katie herself informed me during our call that it wasn’t yet four weeks, so this is therefore three weeks!
I certainly did not arrive late for my appointment in fact I arrived two minutes early. I had been contacted by the salon a week or so prior if I could come half an hour early. I said no and offered to change my appointment to another time if necessary. I was assured to still arrive at the time arranged. I then received a book du appointment stating the earlier time. I rang the salon and again was assured that my original time was fine.
I was at nO POINT informed that one stylist would be weaving one side of my head and another weaving the other side. That’s ludicrous and I don’t know anyone that would agree to this as one side could have thick stripes a the other side look more blended.
I did not cancel any other appointments. However, I did receive several phone calls from the salon, a couple asking me again and again if I could come in earlier and another from a staff member apologising for their colleagues incompetence.
You certainly did not squeeze me in. I’d booked the appointment a couple of weeks prior.
I would have expected at least an honest reply to my review.
This is the first review I have ever written as their incompetence is beyond bel!
