Was at an event, live miles away , so booked direct, lovely drive up to the hotel, receptionist was pleasant, gave our room keys, had booked a twin and a family room, no mention from the receptionist where the breakfast room was or times.
The twin room was bigger than the family room, both rooms had wallpaper coming off the wall in numerous places, needs updating. No air-conditioning.
No sockets by the bed for charging phone, lamp kept flickering
Event was good, food was lovely
Breakfast....well, what a disaster, had to wait for numerous items, on numerous occasions, including plates. Very disappointing
Would i stay here again....No

Arrived safely, we were in the main hotel, there are lodges too. Nice welcome from reception, we let them know we wanted to go swimming etc, they asked approximately what time, we said 5.30pm, they don't want the pool overcrowded. When we went to pool, they said closes at 6 !! |Rooms, spacious, 1 double bed, 1 single, usual, kettle, tea bags, coffee satchets, hair dryer, which didn't work, iron and board, wardrobe and drawers, one standard lamp not working either. 1 shower get, 1 shampoo, miniature soap.|Breakfast, usual serve yourself, no different to Premier Inn, little bit disappointing |Overall stay ok, We only stayed there because it was convenient to drive to the Seal sanctuary

Murder mystery dinner.||We went for the murder mystery dinner. The night was so good and great fun.||The food served was really nice and they even did my special request of swappies for the potato's.||Function food which was restaurant quality, great presentation of food, the team where all really nice and checked back to make sure we were enjoying the food.||The only negatives:| the layout of the room we were sat on a table of 2 where as we thought it would have been captain tables so we could solve the murder with other people. The random chair sashes. The dress up theme/guidance from the site on dressing up was so vague we didn't dress up. Halloween, school, realistic...||Stirling murder company did a great job of bring the event and I would go to another.

Popped in on the way passed for some lunch. Lovely place. Service was good but the food. It was a bit of a disappointment. We went for the steak and ale pie with seasonal veg. I'm afraid a pie is not a bowl of meat with a puff pastry top. The meat did taste nice but a pie to me surrounds the contents with pastry. Not a puff on top. In my pie I had a bit on meat that was inedible. I did have chips and they were nice. The broccoli was more stalk the floret.
Again the Service was good. The building was nice. Outside looked nice. But then you look at the carpet. Bits of food all over. The chair I sat on had food marks on it.
We go passed regular and thought it would be a lot better. Walked out disappointment thinking won't go there again.

I stayed at the Kenwick Hotel in Louth for two nights on the 4th/5th January while accompanying my granddaughter on a visit to the area. My experience has been a mix of positives though mainly disappointments, so I feel compelled to share my thoughts.

The hotel itself is beautiful, set in peaceful surroundings, and my initial impression was positive. Upon arrival, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I was originally placed in a room in the cottage, which had a shower. When I asked if I could move to a room with a bath for the second night, the staff arranged this immediately and moved me to room 102 in the main hotel, which was much appreciated.

On the first night, we had an issue with the TV remote, which wasn’t working. I asked for new batteries, and the staff promptly sorted that out. Breakfast was ordered and paid for for the following morning .

The next morning, however, things didn’t look so great . My granddaughter and I went to breakfast, and we were disappointed to find that the selection was very limited, and the food wasn’t appetising. My granddaughter barely ate, and I opted for scrambled eggs on toast, which was disappointing considering the cost. I had expected more for the price paid.

Later that day, I had planned to use the leisure facilities, but I didn’t realise they closed at 6pm on Saturdays. I arrived at 5:20 pm, only to be told it was closing time which was a disappointment but that was something I had overlooking as it had been open till ten pm the previous night . I then went to the restaurant at 5:30 pm, hoping to grab something to eat, but was informed that the kitchen was closed due to a staff awards ceremony. I asked if there would be any food available at all, and was told no. This was particularly frustrating, as I was relying on being able to dine at the hotel and had no plans to venture out alone, especially with the weather being extremely icy. No alternative was suggested.

With no food options and a remote that still wasn’t working properly, I ended up spending the evening in my room, trying to watch TV on my phone due to intermittent internet. It was not the relaxing evening I had hoped for. To make matters worse, there was a loud party near the cottage area later in the evening. I was glad I had asked to be moved the previous night, as that would have made the experience even more enjoyable.

The lack of communication about the hotel’s closure of facilities and services on Saturday night was a big letdown. There was no mention of this when I checked in, nor was there any note left in my room to inform me of the situation. Had I known in advance, I could have made alternative arrangements.

Overall, while the Kenwick Hotel has a lot of potential and some friendly, helpful staff, the lack of communication and poor service on the second day left me feeling let down. What I expected to be a relaxing and enjoyable stay turned into a bit of a disappointment. It’s a lovely hotel, but improvements in customer service, facilities and communication are definitely needed.

Overall this is a beautiful place but I was shocked by the lack of manners and customer service skills of some of the staff in the hotel restaurant but especially in the spa centre. The woman that was on the reception desk at the time when I came was covertly racist and having arrived there for a relaxing afternoon I instantly felt unwelcome and like I was different and frankly that made me not want to go back there again.
