We stayed for two nights here and really didn’t want to leave! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and looked after. |The other guests were lovely and we really enjoyed sharing our stories over a delicious dinner at the communal dining table. All the food was locally sourced, seasonal and prepared by a talented team with an obvious passion for their craft. |There was a stunning glasshouse where we had candlelit drinks after dinner while gazing up at a clear starry sky. There is a well equipped yoga and wellness studio, an outside sauna, a fire pit and numerous places to sit and relax. The nature walk on our last day was a real highlight - our guide Donnie was very knowledgeable and I came away having learned a lot about the local countryside and the Wildland conservation programme.|The rooms are beautifully decorated in typically unfussy Scandi style. We stayed in Oak, which has a big private bathroom just next door but not ensuite. That would be my only criticism, but it’s pretty minor.||All in all I loved it here and thought the setup, location and service were exceptional. Little touches like the homemade Negroni before dinner, freshly baked biscuits in the afternoon, and lovely lunches wrapped up in brown paper parcels, made the place feel like so much more than a country guest house. This place is a unique rural escape with a difference, and one you won’t forget.

A slightly bizzarre experience. Check in was very hands off, no real welcome or information offered about the area or the project when asked. We sort of had to go looking for someone to tell us where our room was and what the set up is for dinner etc. Our bins in our room had also not been emptied, full with a meal deal and lucozade bottles, so an overall sense of a not clean room in the hay loft. Made the staff aware, wasn’t much of a response. There was no real wow moment in the room, and the staff parking area meant the Hay loft does not feel very private compared to the photos online. The bathroom is also a bit of a shame given the large space, only a tight shower that floods because door is hinged wrong direction. Not what you would expect in terms of amenities for the price. Chef was incredible, she was stand in for regular chef I believe and her menu was impeccable, she was chatty, warm and knowledgable. Dinner service was excellent and our server was lovely. Unfortunately, the cold plunge to accompany sauna was out of service, which left the sauna feeling lacking and again, amenities longing. Morning breakfast was not as warm or welcoming.

everything people have written about the area, the property and staff is 100 percent true. its stunning here. HOWEVER we are staying in Geordies Cottage and its very much style over comfort in certain areas. the welcome pack and kitchen are great. tons of hot water and wifi. No TV if that is important to you. beds are comfortable and linen and towels are first class. what has diminished our experience has been the living room furnishings. After walking for 14 k I want soft furnishings to collapse into with a mug of tea. every chair in the lining area is uncomfortable to sit in for more than a 10 minutes. We asked if they could change and they tried but do not have anything to swop them with. it has definitely means I would not return to Killiehuntley unless I stayed in the farmhouse where there is a communal living space with soft furnishing. in fact because of the discomfort, I don't want to lie on my bed all the time, we are leaving early. Please change the furnishing in your beautiful property.

We had an absolutely brilliant stay at Killiehuntly - the Farmhouse was gorgeous and very thoughtfully designed - "quiet" luxe - Lorraine was a super helpful and friendly host, Duncan a brilliant chef. Aperitifs and quiet evenings reading by the fire were wonderful, dinners were brilliant. The estate itself was beautiful - Really enjoyed the walks. Ticked all boxes for a "disconnected" getaway. We look forward to returning.

We knew we were in for treat before we even arrived at this beautiful property - the drive from Edinburgh was superb and the setting is simply breathtaking.|We stayed in the main house - and the night we were there - we were the only guests - but no trouble was spared to make us feel welcome and completely at home.|The staff were charming , the walks magical and the food - simple , of high quality and good potion sizes.|We truly had a beautiful time and wished we could have stayed much longer! it is somewhere to take time, check out for a while and just soak in the natural beauty of a very special place.

It's very hard to fault this beautiful property and it's wonderful staff.||We stayed 3 nights for Hogmanay in this immaculate four bedroomed farmhouse, which is very Scandi in design... I think a nod to it's location in terms of furnishings/artwork should be considered.| |Pete cooked amazing evening meals/breakfasts and catered for all dietary requirements and there were plenty of beverage options. All 8 guests eat together, which was a first for us, their company was delightful.||Activities are mostly outdoors, if all you do is go for a walk then you will not be disappointed, this is a stunning landscape. ||I think what really makes this place special are it's staff - we were brilliantly looked after by Lorraine, Fe, Lesley & Nell - Thank you.

This place was terrific, I'm only sorry that we were there for only one night. Alex, a young Englishman, was a great host....greeted us upon arrival, showed us around the property, them served us tea and cake....the rooms were extremely cozy with understated Scandinavian elegance.....and Pete the chef cooked up a great dinner. ||I think the concept of sharing a house with just a few other travelers is a great one....my mom and I met two couples, one American the other German who were staying there the same time as we were and we had a good conversation over dinner and then breakfast the following day.

This was our second time visiting the farmhouse and it's still as amazing as ever. The staff are exceptional and take such great care of guests, especially our host Fiona! Tom's cooking is absolutely incredible, all of our meals were an absolute treat. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
