Stopped for a coffee and a bite at this new (to me) cafe in Staplehurst. I was out for a ride on a cold December day, and the warm atmosphere of “Kin” was most welcoming. I had a Black Americano and a Cheese Toastie with Kimchi. The Kimchi is made “in-house” and was very good! The coffee was also a good quality. The cafe was busy when I arrived but I managed to get a seat on one of their comfy sofas.
There is street parking (free) immediately outside the cafe or the town shops have a car park just 50 yards away.
This was a great find, and I will return!

Moving back from uni, the one thing missing in Kent was decent coffee! Kin has exactly that as well as a lovely atmosphere and kind, friendly staff. No extra charges for vegan milk, amazing food and wonderful specialty coffee at an even better price. We come in most days with our dog (who loves his pup cups as much as I love my cappuccinos) 🙂

My Fiancée and I have attended the Friday taco nights twice since they started and it has gone from really good to truly great. It's a lovely relaxed atmosphere, a good cocktail list (I reccomend the Dirty Backyard Caipirinha) and the tacos are brilliant. I like the pork - my partner likes the fish. Would reccomend for groups looking for something more niche than your typical pub grub available in the area. It's a special evening to kick off the weekend.

Recently discovered Kin for their infamous taco night but have then returned for day time coffee and pastries. The whole thing is just the absolute epitome of what a small local business should all be about. Well made drinks, cracking local food but honestly the thing that sets it apart is the phenomenal staff who are kind, friendly and always grateful. I can't recommend it enough for a nice spot for a coffee (although nervous to advertise taco night as I always want to be able to get a seat!)

Taco night was soooo good. Perfect menu, a unique dining experience and authentic corn tortillas 👌 .

Small, friendly cafe with great food. The Oren milkshake is 10/10. Not much space to sit, would recommend for 1-2 people not larger groups but definitely worth a visit.

Kin Coffee shows promise, but there are areas for improvement. While the barista demonstrated skill and knowledge in crafting coffee, and the beverage itself was delightful and reasonably priced, the overall experience left room for enhancement.

Upon our visit, it became evident that the establishment struggled to cope with a previous rush of customers, resulting in a prolonged wait of over 10 minutes for our coffee, despite the absence of a queue and three staff members on hand. This indicated a lack of planning and control in managing customer flow.

Furthermore, one patron who ordered a flat white after us endured a 15-minute wait, prompting him to take a seat while awaiting his order. Such delays are less than ideal for a quick coffee stop.

Although there is a selection of light bites, confectionery, snacks, and a range of beverages, the absence of our preferred toasted sandwich option at 10 a.m. necessitated a substitution. Regrettably, the substitute, a tomato and pesto sandwich on sourdough with premium ingredients, failed to justify its price tag, lacking the desired culinary distinction.

Despite these shortcomings, it was encouraging to observe the use of porcelain cups for our take-away coffee, adding an eco-conscious touch to the experience. Or they may have heard our order incorrectly asking for a takeaway. Additionally, the gesture of providing a free coffee voucher to compensate for the delay was appreciated.

The coffee bar itself boasts clean facilities and a relaxed atmosphere, which is commendable. It is heartening to witness the success of small businesses. With improved operational efficiency, quicker service, and heightened attention to detail, Kin Coffee has the potential to become an even more attractive destination for coffee enthusiasts.

Such an amazing place - great coffee, lovely staff and atmosphere, and the space is very nice. Greg who’s running the place is very knowledgeable of coffee and has very high standards, ensuring that every cup you get is delicious! I keep coming back.
