There’s not many options in Gillingham when visiting especially as it has a massive student population. I chose the King Charles as it was half the price of Premier Inn for one night and to be honest it exceeded my expectations. It looks a little rough from the outside resembling a motel and with building works but initially I was impressed with free parking for guests. Reception staff were fabulous and friendly and the immediate bar area was well serviced and plenty of space. The restaurant area was a little basic and we only had the included breakfast but that was great. I especially like the fact they had brewed coffee rather than having to wait for machines. Our room was large with an extra single bed, clean but a little dated with pine decor. I love that the windows open a little to get fresh air as so many hotels these days are fixed closed. The shower was great and the bed comfortable. The location was excellent for us as we were visiting a student but it was very handy for the nearby naval museum and a very short walk into town. I’d definitely stay here again and always compare prices remembering that this has the included breakfast and parking. Also the koi pond and multiple fish tanks were lovely.

Great Hotel, definitely worth 4.5 out of 5, customer service was fantastic! All of the team were very friendly. The room was nice, couldn't really fault anything unless your really picky. Great!

Great place to stay for Medway Towns visits. The rooms have all you need and are clean and well serviced. Great breakfast to suit all tastes and appetites. The location is perfect for access to all of the towns or for quick access to motorways for London or Coast visits. Walking distance for railway links and bus stops right outside. The best asset of the hotel is its staff who are efficient, friendly and very helpful. Regular visitors are remembered and greeted by name.

Blood stained sheet and quilt./cover, under ultra violet light. Had to get reception to bring vlean stuff up andvthen make my own bed with her.|Dirty stuff left in room as it was so late ready for picking up on Saturday a.m. it was left until Monday morning!|Room not cleaned but bin emptied. Gamily rokm has 2 separate rooms one done. Not the double. Emailed manager and still waiting for a reply on Monday evening!|Came back to hotel on Monday evening to ffind room unlocked and ajar for all and sundry to come in. |Ehat an absolute joke so second vomplaint put it. I do kot hold out any hope of anybody actually replying. The reception staff and catering staff are fab. Cleaning is a koke. Dirth bathroon and toilet again undrr ultra light. Shower had tooth paste all up the wall. £85 pn for this experience. Rubbish rubbish rubbish.

I stay at the King Charles quite regularly during the winter and find the hotel staff welcoming and very helpful.
The bedrooms are large and always clean and the en-suite bathroom well equipped with shower gel and towels.The restaurant has a reasonable menu which changes regularly, breakfast is a must
The car parking is free and close to the hotel. Overall very good value for money.

First impression...hotel for contractors.|Walked into reception, reception staff were lovely, but couldn't get past the weird smell.|Our room.......well it seemed snug, but I think that was due to the bunkbeds right next to our bed, everything seemed very basic and only there for a purpose rather than aesthetically pleasing. Bed was not the most comfortable. The added wrapper of a bed bug detector in our room gave me some concern.|Walked around our room with socks/shoes on, didn't feel comfortable being bare foot.|Cooked breakfast was nicer than I anticipated, again everything seemed basic.|Staff were all friendly and helpful.|Dont get me wrong, I've seen worse places, but this is definitely somewhere for lads working away, everything was just basic, I wouldn't recommend if couples want a nice night away together........

The hotel is a bit tired as they have had struggled during COVID . The staff are fantastic. If you love tropical 🐠 fish they have an amazing collection. Food was good. Parking is always a bonus. We had a lovely stay and would stay again.

Stay here on a regular basis when me and my team are working in the area! Hotel is great and has all the facilities that you need after a days work! All the staff are exceptionally friendly and very professional! Highly recommended
