Quite dated but commodious none the less. Good and comfortable beds and good sized rooms. We ate dinner elsewhere, and once encountering breakfast the following morning were relieved we had. Location has to be mentioned though as it was a couple of minutes walk from a lovely sandy beach with several quality cafes to choose from. A very good night's sleep due to the utter peace of the surroundings. Recommended, with caveats.

This is a gem of a hotel. The lounges are very cosy full of huge sofas, vintage board games, table tennis, antiques, decorated in a unique 70s and arts and crafts style, The staff are incredibly friendly and good at looking after guests. The hotel is very dog friendly. The hotel is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, 5 mins from stunning woodland walks, sandy beaches, box sauna, classic timeless enid Blyton seaside. The hotel also has a swimming pool and sauna, there is also a box sauna on the beach. I spent three days there in the middle of winter, it was an utter joy from start to finish.

We have stayed here for the Christmas package over a number of years and found the atmosphere welcoming, relaxed and very dog friendly. The staff are very helpful and go to making for an enjoyable stay. The hotel itself is in need of modernisation but too much might spoil the general ambience. We found that the food appeared to have dropped a notch in quality and presentation compared to our previous visits. A Christmas gift box and named treats for our 2 dogs enhance the stay and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. We shall return yet again!

We went for the night and we loved it. It was a very special family occasion and it was a first visit for us. The hotel is absolutely charming. In the very very best possible way, it's like a step back in time. Cosy, comfortable, very clean.
We will come back and for a longer stay next time.

This was the 4th or 5th time we've stayed at Knoll House, it feels like a home from home including for the dog. It's quirky, laid back, comfortable, serves a great breakfast, and has lots to do for the family, from pitch and put, to table tennis, and a cinema room. ||It is superbly located for Studland Beach, walking to Harry's rocks, or taking the ferry to Poole. ||We booked an offer that made it really good value.

I could write for hours on our first visit here, so I shall make 3 comments.
1. Steeped in 30s atmosphere.
2. We seem to be the only 1st timers. Everyone else is repeat visitors.
3. The staff go out of there way for you.

Can't wait to return and share with family and friends.

Went for a day retreat and was really impressed by the place - good mixture of old and new. Kids loved the outdoor pool and the games room. Food was great (we went on a Sunday) and had roast pork and roast beef. Staff were all very friendly and we appreciated the welcome we received. Definitely worth a visit for the day and I would hope to stay a bit longer next time - maybe a couple of nights.
