Could not fault the food. Attention to detail in both flavour and plating style.
Sat at the Kitchen Bar and asked questions about the what they were making. I know this can be annoying for them as they are working but they we're happy to answer.

Will definetly be back again!
Best sushi I've had since going to a fusion Restaurant in Stockholm a few years ago!

Amazing evening here for a friend's birthday. Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service, particularly as we were such a big party (15 of us). Emma looked after us brilliantly well, remembered who ordered what and stayed calm, cheery and attentive throughout our evening. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again. Thank you!

We discoved KUKU during our first visit to Plymouth and had a lovelydining experience! Conveniently located in the city centre, we managed to get a table without a booking on a Sunday evening, which was a pleasant surprise considering how busy it was.

We were celebrating our anniversary, and KUKU turned out to be the perfect spot. The atmosphere was lovely—cosy yet elegant, with a warm and welcoming vibe. Despite the bustling crowd, the service was fast, friendly, and genuinely impressive. Our waiter was polite, attentive, and took the time to engage in a nice conversation with us.

We shared a bottle of white wine that was crisp and refreshing. The miso soup was rich and comforting, and the Tokyo Special my partner ordered was so delicious. The noodles were perfectly crispy, and the sushi platter we shared was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The sushi was truly some of the best we’ve ever had - incredibly fresh and full of flavour.

To top off an already fantastic evening, the staff surprised us with a complimentary ice cream dessert with chocolate sauce after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary - a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture that made the experience even more special.

We would absolutely recommend KUKU to anyone visiting Plymouth.

Visited with my family while on holiday near the area. It was recommended by my sister in law and it certainly did not disappoint. The food was delicious. The cauliflower katsu was amazing. I had never eaten a cauliflower katsu before but I’m so glad I tried it. The sushi, noodles, everything was wonderful. The kids ate everything to my surprise.
A bit of constructive feedback here:
-Service was a tad slow in the beginning. Took about 20mins to get the drinks order.
-The soap in the female restrooms do not work well. It is almost impossible to get soap out so that needs fixing.

We had an absolutely exceptional meal from the festive "Emperor tasting menu" at KuKu last night. The food was full of flavour and delightfully presented. The staff were attentive but not intrusive. The restaurant was clean and pleasant with a fantastic atmosphere! Lovely to see a place like this full of people enjoying good food and making the most of a brilliant asset to Plymouth dining!

Definitely now our favourite place to eat in Plymouth. Big compliments to the chef was the best sushi I have ever had and I’ve eaten in Nobu Zuma and Sushi Samba. Staff were super friendly and gave me a special birthday ice cream dessert complimentary. An amazing birthday celebration dinner! We will be back 🙂

The best Asian food I've ever had in the South West. Beautiful Decor and incredible service from Jack. Lots to choose from and the pork skewers (yakitori) were next level. Will visit again. Highly recommend!

We didn’t have reservations for a party of 5 during lunch but they were able to get seated right away. Our server was very prompt and nice. Explained the menu well and the kids loved the sushi platter. Husband has the katsu curry and it was different than what we were used to, but in a good way. We also got yakisoba for one of the kids, and the miso soup that had the fish bits inside. Our bill was reasonable for 2 adults, 2 kids and a toddler, was less than what we’ve paid for lesser quality places like Yo Sushi. Will definitely be back. We loved our corner rounded table with the faux blossoms hanging over. Kid friendly enough, although it can be a bit posh and you may the only ones with the kids ! We had them remove the stem wine glasses to avoid any mishaps.
