We bought the cake at the last minute before close. Initially we just wandered around the corner, then a lady told us she came from a long journey to get the cakes here. That’s why we decided to try and it was fantastic!!!! We tried plum cake and really loved it!!!!
Would like to try more cakes!!!

What an absolute delight of a find! The food here is super fresh and absolutely delicious. The staff are really friendly and the decor is nice and relaxing.

The super wide range of homemade food is unreal. If I could eat here every day for every meal, I'd be very happy indeed! We ate I'm for breakfast a couple of times and also ordered takeaway for lunch. Cost-wise, we spent on average about £10 to £16 each. This included drinks and cake on top of a full breakfast.

The home made cakes are insanely amazing. I am not a cake person at all, but I ended up buying 5 cakes from here. We had the Bakewell, rhubarb crumble and brownie.

For breakfast we had a full English (they allowed us to swap black pudding for bacon), a home made bap with bacon, sausage and egg. The sausage patties also appear to be home made. They are delightful. If they sold them to make at home, I'd have bought some! My daughter had the avocado, feta and sundried tomatoes on feta. She said it is by far the best she has had. My youngest son had toast on day one and waffle in day two.

We loved it so much that we had it all again on day two.

My only feedback to the staff would be to improve your marketing from the outside. It's a competitive area and the dark colours did not stand out. We only found you by accident. Some brighter colours or (if possible) a hanging sign over the door arch. Even when we came back the next day, we struggled to find exactly where you were.

Firstly, the food although expensive is good and they do have lovely cakes. However we found the staff to be extremely rude and short with people. Not just us. My husband ordered a coffee and was asked if he wanted milk to which he replied yes. When it arrived there was no milk so I politely asked for some and the man snapped at my husband and said he had ordered black. My husband politely said that he had indeed asked for white and the waiter seemed to want to argue about it but did eventually get him a small jug of milk. An Italian couple that were sitting next to us were also treated with distain and spoken to very curtly, but they were having trouble understanding, and it was totally unnecessary for them to be spoken to like that.

The best breakfast I have had in a long time. The sausage patty was divine. Service was impeccable and the atmosphere was sociable. I'm glad it was a no laptop zone as it gave an open sociable place to sit.

The perfect start of morning with chicken club sandwich and a cup of Americano.

Taste is wonderful and yummy and value for money.

And the place nice and clean and attractive.

Highly recommended.

Always a kind welcome and can be relied on for a huge range of delicious cakes and good coffee (often hard to find). It's often super busy so seating can be restricted to those eating... But as the cakes and bakes are so good, it's worth indulging!

Very nice breakfast here today with the kids - both of whom gave La Reine 10/10. Best place for a hot breakfast in Bourton, not set up as a tourist trap so not as busy as many other places 50-100m away but all the better for it. Beautiful poached eggs.

Hello, I came in yesterday for a cooked breakfast which was graciously adapted and perfectly delicious. The Earl Grey you use is fragrant and delicate. So good that I didn’t need lunch, but on walking back through the village in the middle of the day I couldn’t resist coming in again, what to have?
More Earl Grey of course and a slice of the most divinely light and flavoursome Victoria Sandwich. I have recommended you already, apparently a decent English breakfast is not easy to find in Bourton so you fit the bill.
The cafe is welcoming, tidy and clean. A bright and newly designed look without unnecessary fuss. So many places treat tourists with disdain because it’s likely they may never be back, but you serve everyone well.
Thank you for making my day.
I walked 8 miles on that breakfast and cake and throughly enjoyed Bourton as a result of finding a good start with your cafe.
