My husband suggested we stay at La Rosa for our Wedding Anniversary and we were not disappointed. We stayed in the Arabesque room (2nd floor). |Unfortunately my satnav decided to guide us into Whitby/the hotel by trying to take me down a âNo left turnâ route & then âa dead endâ road and thanks to new asphalt/construction on the road coming in Iâd gotten a chip in the windshield (luckily on inspection itâs a small surface scratch which didnât render the car unsafe to drive) but it meant when I got to the road the La Rosa is on and struggled to find a parking space Iâd gotten a little stressed! |I went to reception (as Iâd emailed in advance as we came into Whitby earlier than our check-in time to pick up the ÂŁ5 parking permit for the W Disc Zone) & was visibly upset so the lovely hotel staff took me into the Library, sat me on a settee & offered me a glass of water before they even knew I was actually staying in their splendid hotel! After getting a cuddle from their dog Jonathan & calming down I thanked both staff. We came back later to âcheck inâ and they checked if I was doing better.|The Arabesque room has a massive comfortable 4 poster bed & an opulent bath which is perfect for a relaxing soak after walking around Whitby. The complimentary soaps & bubble bath smell divine. |We were given a choice of breakfast down in the dining area or in our room & we opted for it in our room. Again the staff went above and beyond providing me with both a cafetière & coffee bags as Iâm a big coffee drinker and we were gifted with a bottle of Prosecco and a Card on our wedding anniversary. |We pre-booked one evening for cocktails in the library and we were not disappointed. It was a fantastic experience to sit amongst the interesting/quirky objects listening to jazz/blues whilst sipping expertly mixed drinks. |This was the best stay weâve ever had in any hotel and we did not want to leave!

I had such an amazing stay at La Rosa Hotel in Whitby! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcomingâhonestly, all three of them were just amazing. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and created such a warm atmosphere that it felt more like a home than a hotel or B&B. ||The hotel itself has such a cool, quirky vibeâit really captures the charm of Whitbyâs seaside atmosphere. The breakfast was definitely a highlightâso tasty and filling, it set me up perfectly for the day ahead. Everything about the place feels thoughtful, from the comfy rooms to the fantastic hospitality. I canât wait to go back and enjoy it all over again!|We stayed in the arabesque room and that was amazing as it was, we will definitely be trying the other rooms!

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with exceptional warmth and care by the lovely Helen, Rob, and Iona. I had booked La Rosa for a themed, joint birthday celebration with a group of my closest friends, and from start to finish, they couldn't do enough to ensure that everything was perfect. They tailored a fully vegan banquet for us, and provided thoughtful vegan alternatives for breakfast. Iona's expertly mixed cocktails even included vegan cream. The dinner, cooked by Rob, was delicious and plentiful, from the pani puri amuse-bouche to the pistachio kulfi with spiced warm pineapple.||We all stayed overnight, and had a lot of fun exploring each other's rooms, every one a treasure trove, brimming with lovingly selected curios, collectibles and oddities. The entire hotel feels like a love letter to faded glamour, with a generous helping of spooky Victoriana woven throughout. With no TVs to break the spell, the atmosphere is immersive, transporting you to another time. The tearoom and the cocktail library are museums in miniature: offering a glimpse into a decadent age where more was definitely more. At La Rosa, everywhere your eyes fall there is something delightful or intriguing to look at. It was such a privilege to be able to make these spaces our own for an evening of glamour, cocktails, and utter escapism. ||This is a hotel for creatives, dreamers and the endlessly curious. It's for people who easily glimpse the ghosts of residents past around every corner. We all fell under its spell and canât wait to return.

An easy five star review. This quirky, and fiercely independent hotel was our home from home during a weekend in Whitby. The staff are extremely friendly, the owners incredibly helpful and charming - with a cracking sense of humour.
Itâs so nice to stay in a hotel with style and taste vs the bland and indentikit places that are so frequently on offer. The buffet breakfast was served on antique plates in a room with a stunning view. Vegans very well catered for with advance notice.
Freshly laid leopard print carpet set the tone - this is a place of fun and hedonism. In keeping with this, rooms donât have TVs, but there is speedy WiFi throughout.
Weâll be back in a heartbeat. Thanks for making our weekend extra special â¤ď¸

Brilliant hotel, playful interior Including ocelot print carpet throughout and a fortune telling booth in the breakfast room.
Great welcome from all the team who went out of their way to make sure that our group off giddy pals had the best weekend .
Wonderful stuff xx

What a cool, quirky place this is. Owners are lovely, made us feel welcome. Nice little breakfast delivered to the bedroom with side boiled egg, bread, cheese, jam, and little bits.|Each room is totally different. thereâs so much to look at, too.

Went for my birthday, it was absolutely delightful. We took our dog with us and stayed in the Sacre Coeur room. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous with so many little details. The staff were so lovely and welcoming. We are already discussing when we will go back for our next stay đ¤

Nice hotel BUT very very pricy if you book through booking .com for the money ÂŁ160 ish thought this was top end expensive with NO breakfast no parking you had to pay extra and it was vegi which is NO for me and wife. BOOKING direct gets you the breakfast and cheaper rate plus the next following day it went down in price thought that was cheeky .Hotel is really nice with good service and brilliant views from bedrooms that's what you pay for .. but very noisy on street with people racing cars so didn't sleep well. Value for money NO I wouldn't return as there are far cheaper places that offer breakfast parking etc
