We visited the hotel this week for an afternoon tea - kindly bought for me as a birthday present last year.||We really enjoyed the whole experience - the room where the tea was served was cosy and welcoming. We were very well looked after by Carl who was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious - very fresh sandwiches with great fillings, a scone that was still warm from the oven, and some really lovely cakes. We had tea and coffee - both very good - and a celebratory glass of prosecco. All the food was obviously freshly prepared - which is not always the case with some afternoon teas. Cristina, the chef, came and chatted to us to ask our opinions - a lovely touch.||We also liked the choice of times for eating - 1pm or 3pm. We really liked having our afternoon tea at 1pm - a perfect time to eat.||We will definitely be visiting again!

We went mid week for an afternoon tea with prosecco with our family. Carl looked after us from the word go. He was attentive providing us with impeccable & courteous service. Our food was very tasty, the portions were just right and the flavour combinations were both classic & unusual. Our chef Cristina came to introduce herself and listen to any feedback we had about her food offering...we had nothing to complain about, just praise! I wish more establishments did this.. A big thank you to all involved, including the lady at reception that helped me book it (sorry can't remember your name!).

I had a very pleasant stay at the Lace Market Hotel in Nottingham. The building is beautifully renovated, maintaining its historic charm while offering modern comfort. The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, and the breakfast was excellent—definitely a highlight of the stay.||||The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. The hotel’s central location in the heart of the Lace Market district made it easy to explore the city. Given the quality of the stay and the location, it's excellent value for money. I’d happily return!

I don’t know how this hotel manages to get four stars. The room felt damp, as did the bed. Condensation meant I could not see out of the window. I was given an upgraded room and I would not have liked to see the original room because the one I was allocated was poky. There was nowhere to sit and relax, not that I want to relax there it as so awful. I was in Nottingham on business and I have travelled quite bit for business over the years. I can honestly say that this was the second worst experience of my life. The staff without question were excellent. It is the overall management of the operation that is a huge problem. The pictures bear absolutely no resemblance to my experience. If I had to sum it up in three words I would say, utterly dreary and dreadful. There was a sliver of light when I checked out the following morning, and that was in the knowledge I would never, ever be going back.

Went with my Son for Uni visit to get a flavour of the city. It's the perfect spot - close enough to walk to the city centre, but tucked away in a quiet backstreet. All great - comfy bed, decent bathrooms. Shout-out to Olly who deal with our late check in with such courtesy and efficiency. Great work.

We stayed here for 3 nights for work |This hotel used to be so lovely |Now smelt of damp. There was a dehumidifier in the room. The piping meant I could not close the window|The sockets were not working so could not charge my mobile phone. As no phones in the room could not ask for a wake up call|Shower was ice cold|Would avoid staying here

Not worth the money and not a four star hotel. My stay cost over 200 pounds (breakfast not included and 18 parking charge as the hotel has no parking and no discounts negotiated with any parking garages). ||I was so disappointed by this hotel. The people working there were perfectly pleasant and it is not their fault. I noticed that the hotel seems to massively ratchet prices on Saturday evenings. Had I been paying the weekly prices this would have seemed more reasonable (60-70quid) as this is NOT a four star hotel. ||My room was very pokey and looking out onto a dirty area with some sort of flapping material on the roof. The bathroom was very small with a tiny bath and a shower that was awkward to use. I couldn't utilise the soap dispensers. The taps were at the side of the sink so there was no where to put your products etc without putting them in the way of the taps. There was no phone to call reception (you had to use a QR code and the reception was patchy in my room so I couldn't call reception). There was a very young woman in her twenties at the desk who was perfectly pleasant and ordered us a taxi but she was unable to book one back so we had to book our own. All of this sounds very first world problems, but when you are paying nearly 200 pounds a night your expectations are set at that level. I've just been staying at a beautiful apartment hotel in Birmingham (no. 8 Waterloo street) for 97 pounds a night - gorgeously appointed, very well done and paying double for such a shabby hotel really annoyed me as you feel you are being gouged. ||There is no bar in the hotel so you have to eat/ have drinks in the pub attached to the hotel which is fine, but it is a pub. Breakfast was ok, eggs obviously had a lot of milk added to make them go further and you get your own coffee and tea from a machine. Again if I was paying 60 quid fine, but for nearly 200 - no. ||I don't normally write reviews but honestly - do not spend money to stay here. ||My friends had rooms and both of them had problems - one had broken items in their room and the other had to change rooms as her room was filthy. We were really shocked and disappointed by this experience.

It was for are first anniversary the staff went beyond on making the day a lovely one at no fault. The courtyard room was a good size with a lovely shower a comfy firm bed with hard pillows but the let downs were no phone for room service only scan a QR code for a selection of 24 hours pizza as well as a mini bar in the fridge at reasonable prices, the courtyard is sort of not private I was worried someone would just be sat there watching us sleep as there a gated entrance to the courtyard which leads to your room next to black gate is another room called the hideout so I didn't know if someone was gonna just come sit down in what suppose to be private there no lock or chain with a padlock on the gate for safety and privacy as well the courtyard has no roof so the rooms above you can watch what your doing in the courtyard which isn't a problem and we couldn't use the courtyard much because all the seats were soaking wet. There's no security on the door at night and it's not locked you can just walk in straight to a room. Breakfast was absolutely lovely the Hollandaise sauce was phenomenal so not a let down at all there. Thank you to the team for a lovely anniversary it was all set up perfectly I was just worried about someone sitting in the courtyard when we woke up and watching us.
