Ladybay Homestay B&B - Nottingham

VERY CONCERNED ABOUT HIS PRIORITIES, ATTITUDES AND QUESTIONS!
I asked the receptionist/owner "Mikel" about the services at this B&B and he told me that he needs to watch the "Tour de France" that is more important than having a customer staying at his B&B.
I can't believe his attitude.
He is forcing me to tell him where I am from before anything. This is a red flag: NO, NO
Not keen at all on telling your customer what he offers as a B&B.
I strongly NOT RECOMEND staying here at all.

Mike was a fantastic Host!!!

I stayed in his establishment last Summer whilst working at Trent Bridge, ... Mike offered to cook me a Full English breakfast each morning , but had to turn it down as my work started Very early.
A Brilliant Live-in Host who always asked if there was anything i needed ... Mike kept himself to himself whilst his Guest House was Very Clean and Tidy with a lovely Sheltered Gazebo area out the Back where you could unwind and have a Drink and a cigarette on a warm summers evening.

There are a few shops, a Pub and a couple takeaway places just at the end of the road, so it is greatly situated in very quiet area of Lady Bay, and it took me 10 mins to walk to Trent Bridge Cricket Ground!

I am looking forward to staying again this year if 'Mike' isn't already booked up for the 'Ashes'

My partner and I stayed here last night. I can't remember the last time I've had such a good night's sleep. Mike, the owner, is the most wonderful gentleman, and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious, and we had a great conversation with him. We've already told him we will be back. Can't recommend ladybay homestay highly enough.

I have now stayed with Mike on seven or eight occasions and have always found him to be the most engaging of hosts . The friendly welcome you get when you arrive never never changes . I am looking forward to seeing Mike again when I bring my son up to the test match later in the year

After being let down by a nearby hotel who double booked 2 reserved rooms, and at 9.30pm we searched for b&b's and found Ladybay homestay. Mike was kind enough to take us in at that late notice and was so helpful in every way he could be. Lovely breakfast in the morning. It's a home, with private bedrooms and shared bathroom, and if you're okay with that it's a cracking find and cheap!

Had a lovey overnight stay at lady bay home stay in November2016. It's run by an elderly man by himself and he does a great job. We were a group of 4 black girls and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely! Would definitely recommend this home stay for an affordable overnight stay in Nottingham close to city centre.

Very unprofessional and I was discriminated by Michael who runs this B&B because of my Age and Race (28/Black), This man had no consideration of how far I had come and basically turned me away on the day of my check in because I asked if I could pay by card without considering that we had not agreed a method of payment, I even went through the pains of getting cash and returning but he refused thereby leaving me out in the cold, dark night and even though I had his money as agreed. I was so dissapointed I went as far as calling the police because I was discriminated, Thankfully they obliged and I will be reporting him to all authorities as I do not think his business is a legal entity. I warn everyone DO NOT USE THIS B&B for your own good!!

Booked a room for a group booking, received a text message 3 days before we were due to stay saying a family member was ill and couldnt accomodate us. Rang back the next day and the booking was available to book! Very unprofessional behaviour, no explanation as to why then cancelled on us and it has cost us over £100 for alternate accomodation at such short notice.
