My husband and I stayed here for two nights x this is the perfect place to relax! The bed was extremely comfortable and the bed sheets were immaculate. We spent both evenings sat outside, relaxing and it is perfect for doing this. Everything about this experience was perfect. Location was peaceful and yet we were near enough to loads of interesting things to do. Breakfast was delicious and perfectly cooked. Rob is a fantastic host and so is his gorgeous dog Rocky. Because of our experience we will be returning and bringing our son's so we can all enjoy the fishing experience that Rob offers. There are no negatives. This is an.extremely.comfortable, friendly.amd warm B&B and i would say the perfect place.to spend some.tome of you want.to unwind|

Booked 2 nights here as we wanted to run around the waters edge. The Lodge exceeded all expectation right from having somewhere safe to park to being able to run around the lake straight from the door. The rooms are comfortable, all en suite with good, hot showers. The breakfast is fabulous too but the best thing for me was the lounge - huge sofa and comfy chairs, a 'fridge for guests to store wine, a wood burning stove which was prepped each evening by Rob with a genuine invitation from him to 'make yourselves at home'. A truly relaxing break with a friendly host. My only hesitation about posting this review is that I don't want everyone else to know about it as we want to go back!

We needed to break our journey home, and this was a great place to do it. Right by Rutland Water which was an eye opener! It is at the end of the road, so it's incredibly quiet there. You're pretty much left to your own devices, you can while away the time in a very comfortable lounge, which has sleep inducing big sofas. We forced ourselves out before dinner to go for a walk along the lakeside which was lovely. The only bad thing was the weather, but there's nothing anyone can do about that! We had the Lakeside Room which was very comfortable, bit cramped for 2, but then we are used to a King size bed.... The full English breakfast the following morning was heroic to say the least! Rob is a good host, and can definitely recommend a stay there.

As others have said, this B&B is in a great location. It is marvellously quiet and on a sunny day it is almost like having a house on the beach. The room we had was rather 'compact', but very clean, and the beds were really comfortable. The people who run it are friendly and helpful. If you like 'Full English' the breakfast is great, but the alternatives are nice too. If you're looking for a place to stay near Oakham, this is a really nice place.

The B&B is at the end of a lane and there is no passing traffic, so it was super quiet, just the sound of the wind, the waves, and the birds. ||||I was warmly welcomed by Rob, who'd rung me to make sure I was on the way, and shown around. I'd booked the Lake View room which was ideal, a superbly comfortable bed which gave me a couple of hours' siesta before I went out in the evening. I didn't use the rather comfortable looking lounge, but came back and slept like a log!||||A huge and excellent cooked breakfast, with fruit, cereal and tea/coffee was freshly prepared for me before I set off in the morning. ||||A very pleasant stay and superb sleep quality. ||||I can see some 'poor' reviews and I suspect that these are people who don't understand that this is a rustic and homely B&B, not a 5 star hotel. If you want 24 hour reception and liveried servants fawning on you, then this is not the place. If you want a homely and warm experience then I strongly recommend Lakeside B&B.||||Rob and Emily - thank you.

Spent 3 nights here in the Garden Room. Rob was a great host, very attentive with lots of local Knowledge. On the day of our arrival he phoned to make sure everything was OK, as we arrived later than predicted. Loved the guest sitting room, bedroom was small, but comfortable, with everything we needed. The B&B is right on the lakeside making it a very peaceful location. Would certainly stay again if we come back to the area.

I bought my wife here as a suprise for a 'special'birthday.||Bed was soft and cosy||Room was very nice ||Food was lovely and filling||Rob was great, did everything to make our stay as cosy as possible, he had to draw the line at breakfast in bed 😁 ||Lovely accommodation, perfect... just what Rutland is all about.||The only downside was clocks going forward... boo hoo... we had to come home 😭||Excellent location for us on a bird watching weekend. ||Thankyou for putting up with us, the log fire on Saturday night was great... tooo relaxing.||10/10 from us

Really great spot for those wanting to cycle round the lake and into Oakham as the building is located right next to the cycle path. Rooms nice and clean and we had the run of the lounge. The host had very kindly laid on a big log fire for us which was really lovely. Breakfast was excellent and the location very peaceful. If you are looking for a cosy b and b to base a long cycle - this place is fab.
