Poor communication and organisation – disappointing experience

I had a frustrating experience with the counselling course application process at Lambeth College. Before applying, I asked the recruitment team whether I should apply for Level 2 or 3, and they advised me to apply for Level 3. However, after travelling an hour for the interview, I was informed that I could not enrol to Level 3 without first completing Level 2. This could have been clarified beforehand to avoid unnecessary time and effort.

The interview process itself was also poorly organised. It was conducted in a shared space and candidates were even whispering their GCSE grades due to the lack of privacy. There was no clear system for calling people up—despite being given ticket numbers, staff simply asked who was next, creating confusion.

To add to the disappointment, the Level 2 evening classes were already full, meaning I was unable to enrol at all. If this had been communicated earlier, I would not have applied in the first place.

Transparency and better organisation would greatly improve the applicant experience. Clearer communication about entry requirements and course availability, as well as a more structured and private interview process, would make a significant difference. Unless these issues are addressed, I would highly not recommend this college.
