Our stay at Meadowsweet at Laneside was wonderful. We stayed there last weekend as a little getaway and we would 100% come back!

The room was immaculate, and there were so many thoughtful details - you can tell the owners Katy and Stephen have put so much thought and effort into making it a nice place to be. Our favourite touch was the freshly home-baked bread everyday!

We spoke to Katy on a couple of occasions and she was super lovely and very helpful with advising us on what we could do in the area. The B&B is just a 20 minute drive from Whitby, and there is so much to "sea" 😁

Couldn't have asked for more for our stay at Meadowseet, thank you Katy and Stephen!

We stayed for one night and to be honest we could have stayed longer. It's set in such a stunning location and it's so peaceful. Katy and Stephen were lovely, very friendly and accommodating (beautiful dog too) The room was absolutely gorgeous. It was spotless and clean. We had freshly baked bread and jams with yogurt and porridge in our room for breakfast the next day. It was delicious. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep.

Just spent a fantastic few days at Athelas. What a lovely little place, there’s everything you need for a comfortable stay, Katy, Steven and Pippin the Whippet are great hosts. Great that it’s dog friendly, especially good to have somewhere to exercise Wilfred our Whippet in the field opposite. Would definitely recommend this as a base to explore the North Yorkshire Moors and coast. It is such a nice place in a stunning location and great value for money. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed at Meadowsweet Friday to Sunday and felt really welcomed and at home in Katy and Stephen's lovely home. ||Our room was roomy and very clean. On arrival we were shown to our room and the amenities. ||We were given a freshly baked loaf of bread, butter, milk, juice, tea/coffee, Nutella, peanut butter, yogurts etc which were all fit for a lovely breakfast. ||All items were replenished the following day too which was absolutely amazing. ||The bed was comfy, the bathroom was lovely and complete with a very large shower unit. There was a large TV with FreeSat included too. ||The property itself is very much off the beaten track. We ended up going over and through a lot of countryside before finding the location, although Sat Nav directions were absolutely spot on. ||Highly recommended property.

A lovely two night stay in Meadowsweet. A quiet and picturesque location and the perfect base for us. Katy and Stephen were warm and friendly, as was Pippin! Freshly made bread, homemade jam and a view out of every window. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Katy and Stephen were fantastic hosts. Nothing was to much trouble, even borrowing an iron. As we had a wedding to attend a wedding at Danby Castle just a short distance away. The room was exceptional clean, well decorated with great views all around us. Parking was also available. We stayed in Meadow sweet. With a great shower, large double bed and a kitchenette, with fresh bread and milk provided daily. Also yogurt, porridge, toast machine, coffee machine etc. Everything you would need. Thank you we will be back. Lots to explore in the area.

Katy greeted us on arrival and took us upstairs to Meadowsweet. The room was immaculate with quite a large TV (for a bedroom). There was a little well equipped kitchenette which included a coffee machine, kettle, toaster and fridge. The breakfast provided consisted of butter, jam, marmalade, peanut butter and chocolate spread, oh yes and a freshly home baked loaf of delicious bread. There was also porridge and fruit yoghurts. The shower room was quite large with plenty of room. Laneside is a very pleasant quiet establishment in very peaceful surroundings and beautiful views. Just inside the front door was a 'boot room' where you can remove your footwear and leave wet clothes to dry if need be. I only have one small suggestion - personally I would have preferred a small plastic stool in the shower room as I am not a spring chicken any more. All in all, meadowsweet at laneside is highly recommended. Thank you for a lovely stay. Keep an eye out for the wildlife.
