We often pop in on a Sunday for their carveries, we can never fault the service and the food is a proper traditional home cooked Sunday Roast! Never had a bad meal, always enjoyed and never been disappointed! ||We visited again to try the evening menu. The evening we’d booked was a cold bleak night, so it was lovely to see the fires alight, to sit and relax and get warmed up! Again staff so friendly and always made to feel welcome by Lynn and Jayne, it’s just a lovely atmosphere. ||Food delicious, so much variety on the menu. We could not fault it. It’s traditional pub food, good portions, well priced. Yes it’s in the middle of nowhere but 100% worth the travel, you won’t be disappointed, we think it’s a little hidden gem. ||We will certainly be back with the family, see you both soon!

This lovely hotel / pub is absolutely amazing, The home cooked food is first class and the prices are cheap considering the quality of the home made food they chef up. Definitely a lovely place with fantastic views and hospitality is second to none. 10 🌟 stars if I could give it to them. Very highly recommended!

We've visited twice in the last month and been greeted with the same warm welcome both times. Roaring fires and friendly staff, with an extensive menu, what's not to love.|The food was very reasonably priced and the portions are very generous. The Kitchen are very accommodating for fussy eaters and plated up the steak exactly how my husband likes it, it usually comes with all the trimmings but he won't entertain anything extra. I'd definitely recommend the home made steak pie, it was delicious. |We'll definitely be back.

We called in on Christmas Eve just for a drink. ||The place is a superb example of a local Dale pub with roaring fires and a real warm welcome. ||The lady behind the bar welcomed us like we were locals and was the epitome of hospitality. Even carrying our |drinks to our table for us, a lovely touch. ||We will definitely be returning. ||Lovely experience of a traditional country inn.

This place is absolutely outstanding for service, comfort and food. Fantastic window seat. Nothing was too much trouble. My new favourite place to go. Food is fab for price. Lager was very enjoyable 😉

What a gem this place is.Lovely friendly and hard working staff.We visited on Sat 12th Oct 2024 and we're treated by lovely staff and an open fire we can only dream of.We had mixed grill,steak pie,tomato & basil soup and garlic mushrooms.It was so good we booked a table for the next day for Sunday Carvery and what a good move that was|The best carvery we have ever had,plenty choice of 4 meats and wide selection of veg followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard.All piping hot and fresh|Outstanding| 10 / 10.The best welcome and food in many years.The lady chef certainly can cook and put many chefs to shame.Thanks guys and will be back when next in area.Sharron & Terry Blackpool.

Friendly and helpful staff and happily let a friend join us for our evening meal. We all enjoyed our meals and the local ales. Breakfast the next day was also good.|Lots of quirky touches, for example a large stuffed bear!|Our bedroom was comfortable with great views. Lots of places to sit outside.

Went to Eggleston Falls and found this place afterwards. We were made very welcome ( I think the girl was called Elly ). The food was lovely, well priced and good portions. All round a good experience. Our dog was made welcome too. We'll done.
