I had a 2 night stay at Langleigh Guest House using this as a base to start my Hadrians Wall Path walk from. Arriving on a Thursday I enjoyed a marvellous evening meal and conversation with Yvette who is a trained chef and husband Norman. A full breakfast the following morning set me up well for the start of my walk from Bowness on Solway back to Carlisle and Langleigh House and likewise for the second morning of the walk. ||In short good old fashioned hospitality and service from two lovely people in a characterful B & B .

Had a great time staying here. Norman is the ideal host, loved chatting with him over the massive breakfasts he would cook. Stayed for the first two nights of the walk.

What a gem of a place to stay at while in. Carlisle. We checked in at 3pm after walking the wall and were shown our fine large room on the top floor that felt like we were stepping back in time while remaining very comfortable. When our bags arrived, host Norman even brought them upstairs for us. We chose to have dinner on site. It was a bit pricey but it was a very worthwhile treat where we were treated like royalty. Norman and Chef Yvette prepared a scrumptious meal for us, the only diners that evening. Yvette used to teach cooking and you can tell that it is her passion. A bonus was visiting and chatting with Norman and Yvette and it was like they had welcomed us into their home.

My sons and I stayed at the Langleigh Guesthouse while we were walking the Hadrian Wall path. A lovely house to stay. Don’t miss the opportunity to have a dinner at Langleigh (advanced notice needed). The gracious hosts are wonderful people. The previous days were rainy and they helped us to launder our clothes. I will return to Carlisle with my wife specifically to stay at Langleigh Guesthouse.

I would echo all the other outstanding reviews and add more! Norman and Yvette have got this down to a fine art. I was in a dreadful situation after booking an atrocious stay through Airbnb and after phoning Norman I felt I was ā€˜saved’! It was such a pleasure to meet this truly wonderful couple who are clearly dedicated to making the world a better place. I was put in a family room yet only charged for myself and felt soothed by just being surrounded by beautiful things. All the little touches were so appreciated. It’s just such a wonderful house, from the lovely garden out front to the candlesticks at breakfast. In the morning, I suddenly realised my soaking wet walking boots were still in a carrier bag. Norman said, ā€˜Leave it with me.’ I went to mass at the cathedral and had a walk around Carlisle as my train wasn’t due to leave until after 2pm. When I came back to collect my bags safely looked after) I was presented with clean, dry boots! I don’t know how he did it! |I would hate to think anyone visiting Carlisle may miss out on this 10-star experience, so would urge people to book in here! You’ll be better people for it!

A lovely old house full of charm. Beds were comfortable, shower was lovely and breakfast omelettes were outstanding. They also do evening meals but sadly we knew we were going to arrive too late after a 40km fundraising walk along Hadrian’s Wall. Hosts were charming and very understanding when we forgot our key. And they made a very generous donation to our charity. Highly recommended.

This is a Victorian styled home in a nice area of Carlisle. It is not without its good points so I will give the pros/cons|Pros |Good location a short walk from commercial area of Carlisle. Perhaps a 10 minute walk from the bus terminal.|Reasonably priced|Kind hosts|Good breakfast.||Cons |Room size was small - there are a couple of chairs to sit in , but that contributed to the close quarters.|no shower|The biggest con was the 2 dogs on site...treated like children. They were yappy and smelly. There is a pen in the kitchen that they stay in, when breakfast is being made. This is within close proximity to the dining area, so one knows dogs are in the food prep area.|The overall visual of the B and B is that of being stuffy and tired... The decor is not fresh and seems poorly maintained. A refresh of the furnishings and decor would be a big improvement.|If I was returning to Carlisle, I would choose another B and B.

Stayed there one night on the start of walking the Cumbria Way in march 2024. Lovely B&B approximately a 10 Minutes walk from the city center. Nice rooms and excellent Full English breakfast. Everything was as it should be, Norman really made me feel welcome.
