We stayed at the Lantern House over Christmas whilst visiting my parents who live in the village. We have a 4 year old and 6 month old and the cottage was really well equipped with nursery which meant we didn’t have to travel with travel cot/ changing mat etc. Also the cottage is fitted with stair gates and high chairs and everything you need in the kitchen. It’s a great space and when we had a small issue with the heating this was rectified straight away on contacting Tricia and Martin. We really enjoyed our stay and it was great to have our own space and have our family and village amenities (post office/ Coop, pub and playground) close by! Definitely would recommend to families with young children.

Lantern House was a perfect location for our weekend break. Booking was really easy as were subsequent communications with the owners. We arrived to a clean, well cared for and well equipped cottage exactly as it was described on their website. The beds are really comfortable, the place was spacious for myself and my small group of friends. Parking was easy, local amenities are super for a small village. The people of the village were very friendly. Access and leaving the cottage instructions were clear. The wifi worked well. The garden space was great. We loved it so much that we are returning again in 2025 for another weekend break. Thank you to Martin and Tricia for being lovely hosts.

We had a fantastic stay at Lantern House this weekend with our 4 month old. The house was extremely clean and well equipped. Tricia and Martin were very helpful, friendly and communicative throughout the process. The location is easy to find and very convenient (there is a pub and co-op literally steps away!). Highly recommend.

The Cotswolds are beautiful and the village of Sherston is very special, compact but with everything you need close by, a pub serving excellent meals, a well stocked Co-op with Post Office across the road and the Angel cafe down the road giving all day breakfasts, good coffee and cakes. Lantern House is pretty much perfect, spotlessly clean, carefully furnished and comfortable and with great attention to providing everything guests will need to ensure their stay is a pleasant one. Tricia and Martin are most helpful and it was a great week's stay for three friends.

We loved our stay at Lantern House. The house was very comfortable for our family. The house is focused around visitors and had everything we needed and more! The house was also very clean and not cluttered. There were plenty of readily available parking spaces. We were in a central location to the Cotswolds and Bath. There were two great restaurants within a very short walk. The Co-op had all essential groceries and was just across the street. We went to the playground near the house with our children every night. Overall, a wonderful stay and we hope to be back someday!

Terrible noise from pub next door until closing time followed by traffic noise that passes right outside with headlights shining into main bedroom. Claims to be child friendly but fire place is an absolute hazard and then hit with surprise cleaning fee for some crumbs left by 2 yr old that were not hoovered up before check out. Despite us fulfilling all the “Covid cleaning requirements” of stripping beds and putting into laundry bags beforehand. Much better places to stay with more hospitable hosts.

The cottage itself was nice enough (although chilly and humid in the top bedrooms, lots of condensation forming on the window overnight - we all caught colds) but most unfortunately, the hosts had the audacity to claim they were “shocked” that we had left some crumbs and dishes apparently not washed to their standards and charged us a £40 cleaning fee on the basis it allegedly took two people 2 extra hours to clean the lounge and kitchen! As a paying guest I would never expect to be treated this way, nor did I appreciate the suggestion that my friends and I had left the cottage in an unacceptable state (which was not the case). I would look for a place with more welcoming and reasonable hosts.

We have just stayed here for the 2nd time. It is so lovely and peaceful. A great pub across the road The Rattlebone which does awesome food.
The cottage itself is so cosy especially when the log burner was lite. It's clean and everything u needed is there. Very comfortable beds . Martin and Trish who own it are on the end of a phone if u need them.
We can't wait to book again. See u soon Martin and Trish xx
