Staff - Mark (owner), Stacey, Daisy, Fernanda (?), Sophie & young lad in kitchen whose name I didn't catch were friendly, natural and altogether awesome!! Nothing was too much trouble. Food cooked by Mark was very good (especially) the steak! Beer was good & Merlot very nice. Old fashioned pub with some lovely regulars who were happy to chat. Room & en suite was very clean, room was quite small, not a lot of room to manoeuvre but didn't worry us too much. There was some road traffic noise which took a bit of getting used too, but again didn't worry us too much. Good base to travel to places, we went to Buxton, Chatsworth House, Bakewell & Matlock - all enjoyable in their own way. Would definitely stay here again - TY team Lantern Pike xx

Lovely little pub, excellent host/landlord who was super friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Food was really good, and excellent value.

Perfect location for hiking Kinder Scout and other well known hikes in the area.

This is actually listed as one of the most haunted pubs in England, and we did hear a few strange noises in the night!

A very friendly and welcoming pub with lovely accommodating owners. Enjoyed the lovely food and clean rooms. Lovely touches with shower gel etc and tea, coffee and biscuits. The beds were comfortable and the towels lovely and fluffy. Made the weekend celebration special for the family. Thank you so much.

I had a terrible experience with my booking 4327284001 at The Lantern Pike Inn. We received a confirmation from booking. com that check-in would be available from 1:00 PM for 2 adults and 3 kids as shown in the document attached. We arrived at the property around 1340, only to be told that the room would not be ready until 1500. I returned at 1500, and the owner informed me that the room was still not ready but would be available shortly, and they would notify me.

We were left waiting with my young children, including a 5-year-old in the car parked in their car park, until 1615. By then, my child’s health had started to deteriorate due to the long wait. Frustrated, I contacted Booking.com to cancel the reservation, as we could no longer stay under such conditions. Around 1630, Booking.com informed me that the rooms were finally ready, but after waiting nearly two and a half hours and with my child unwell, I proceeded to cancel the booking.

I requesting that the £186 cancellation fee be waived, as the fault lies entirely with the hotel's poor management and customer service but nothing has been done is regards. I fully intend to challenge this issue and escalate it to the appropriate authorities if necessary. Also I have informed my bank card to reverse the transaction in case there is any.

Just stayed for one night and very impressed with the accommodation and service from Mark, the landlord. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was very good. Only downside was the traffic noise from the busy road.

Great service and welcome on arrival by all staff. Mark was was especially helpful and an excellent host. Great atmosphere everyone friendly, great beers, food in the bar/restaurant was excellent along with great service. Breakfast was very good again fantastic service with locally supplied fresh ingredients. Highly recommend, will be returning for another visit.

Booked at short notice when my plans changed, but really made the weekend! Turned up on my bike wet and muddy, but no drama - bike locked in the garage and off for a hot shower. Lovely rooms, great food and beer, excellent service. Thanks, I’ll be back.
