We have had my mother's birthday party at the Rose and Crown for many years, for it is the most beautiful venue I know. This year she was 111 and the Rose and Crown did us proud as usual. The preparations were made so easy by Maisie and we had such help setting the tables up. The event went off so smoothly; the buffet was copious and greatly appreciated, drinks were served outside on the terrace overlooking the Avon, with the cathedral in the distance, and the guests loved being punted up and down the river. The staff were so attentive and cleared up cheerfully the debris left by 65 happy guests. We will be back !

The rooms were up updated but the restaurant served a good breakfast. The most outstanding feature of the hotel is the location. The views of the river and bridge and even the top of Salisbury steeple were fantastic. What a lovely way to end a day of touring by sitting and out in the garden in behind the hotel.

We attended for a family funeral and booked a deluxe suite for the night so we didn't have to drive. The location is breathtaking and overall the pub side of things was great, good service, good beer, good food. However, they took a £25 security deposit from my wife's bank account which hasn't been refunded a week later. The room wasn't clean and there was damage to furniture and decor that hasn't been addressed. We appreciate it is an old building, but there was visible dust on parts of the carpet as well as a large stain near the door and splashes up the wall. I would have expected management to have checked the room prior to letting it, especially in the circumstances and for a £25 security deposit to have been taken in the first place is unusual, but to not have it returned the next day is unforgivable.

We had arranged to meet some of our family at the Rose and Crown for a surprise for my husband’s birthday, and I had booked a room for my husband and I to stay overnight afterwards, as we travelled from Devon and our family from Surrey.|The lunch was excellent: from Sunday roast to fish and chips, plus a children’s menu. Staff were friendly and really good with our young grandchildren. The birthday cake that we had brought along was tucked away for us until the appropriate time, and kept in the fridge afterwards. Service was excellent all round. |Our room for the night was in the modern block overlooking the lovely gardens and the River Avon. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean, rather dated but a large and welcoming space. There was a Nespresso machine as well as tea and coffee, plus biscuits and a bottle of water. The bathroom was dated but had everything we needed.|Breakfast was very good: the hot food was under covers and there was a wide choice: Bacon, sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms, hash browns, black pudding. Fried, poached or boiled eggs were available on request if you didn’t want the scrambled egg that was already out. Fruit, pastries and toast were also plentiful.|The hotel is perfectly situated for a ten minute stroll to Salisbury Cathedral and the city centre. It is an absolute gem and highly recommended.

We had our wedding with them & wow they did amazing the food was incredible & they set the room up so beautifully!! we can't thank them enough we also stayed the night which was lovely. we can't recommend this hotel enough beautiful surroundings perfect for wedding photos! the team as friendly & so helpful.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. Room was large we had a ground floor room with doors out on a small terrace with a table and two chairs to sit out on. Salisbury town is only about a ten minute walk from hotel. Lots to see and do there. Staff were really nice. Food was nice. The only negative which was from my partner is the beer they for some reason had no draught bitter so he didn't drink there. But luckily there is plenty of bars in the town.

We had a beautiful day on 17th May 2025 at this gorgeous venue. |Myself and my Wife were treated like royalty by the amazing Simone and Maisie, who made our wedding day the best day of our life.|We had no concerns and anything we needed they were there to help us. The way they prepared our wedding room was superb, The food was out of this world and the staff are 1st class.|Very friendly and always keen to help and assist where needed.|I would highly recommend the Rose and Crown for any future ventures and look forward to coming back next year for our anniversary.

Staff were lovely and the hotel was set in beautiful surroundings right next to the riverside. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast was plentiful and included everything from continental to full English. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back.
