Great place to stay for a bit of luxury in a stunning garden setting. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the booking and stay. We had a beautiful room with lots of personal touches to make it really special. We were lucky to experience the Leonardslee Lights Trail during our stay which made it even better.|Electric car charge points available in the hotel car park too!

If you are looking for a very special, small, private, high quality hotel with professional and informal staff, this is it. Quiet, country location - with, if you wish, a truly spectacular dining experience. It’s far from an ‘chain’ hotel and offers beautiful gardens with lakes (open to the public) of 250 acres where you can walk - dogs are welcome.

Great building with individually furnished rooms. All very clean and with very spacious bathrooms. Every wish we had during our stay was fulfilled. |The two wine experts Simba and Ndosi shone with their knowledge and brought us exceptional wines every evening in the lounge. We were thrilled.||The large park (Leonardslee Gardens) is a must-see. You can even go for a walk before breakfast. We were served a generous breakfast in an adjoining building, which surprised us at first, but as the Interlude restaurant was closed during our stay, we didn't mind at all.|Anya and Joelle at reception were also very helpful and wonderful.||We would love to come back.

Absolutely beautiful surroundings and exquisite decor, beautifully furnished. Set in the most incredible gardens. However, lacking in customer care befitting of a five star hotel. There is no housekeeping present, no room service and breakfast in a cafe when there is a restaurant in the hotel. The restaurant, which in my opinion is over priced, which may explain why there were only 6 people eating and also 18 courses is too much for anyone to genuinely enjoy. The waiting staff are very attentive, particularly Simba, who was very knowledgeable and made the evening fun. It was a pleasure to meet Jean and his team.

We had a 2 night stay with dinner at Restaurant Interlude in April. The hotel was lovely, room warm, clean, comfortable bed and very smart bathroom. Staff very welcoming. The dinner (17 course tasting experience) was amazing. The grounds are beautiful.

Beautiful curated rooms, incredible decor, the whole experience was exquisite. ||The food and wine was out of the this world, set in the stunning grade 1 listed gardens. ||Plenty of activities for the whole family, sculptures, plants, lakes and sublime food. ||Perfect venue for the whole family.

Leonardslee House reminds me of Beaverbrook. And that’s probably not an accident as Beaverbrook had been open - and been quite a sensation - for a couple of years before Leonardslee opened. ||What both do is bring interwar-ish country house grandeur into a hotel. The bedrooms all have individual designs and individual influences which make the place feel like a home and not a hospitality venue - there’s none of this cookie cutter Four Seasons Hampshire dreck.||In room design and decor, I think Leonardslee slightly betters Beaverbrook. It does not really feel like you are in a hotel room for one moment, and that is just magical. We had booked four rooms for a family stay. I was in Pinotage, which has a strong, masculine aesthetic. The bathroom is nothing short of magnificent. Huge ceilings, freestanding tub, excellent walk in shower. ||This is where the Beaverbrook comparison ends. The issue with Leonardslee is that beyond the rooms, well, there isn’t much else. No doubt there will be in future (I hope) but at the moment these are some rather special rooms above a rather special restaurant. ||The bar is not really much of a space (compared to the one at Beaverbrook, for example) and the decor feels older, several steps below that of the exquisite interior design of the rooms. ||There’s a nice morning room on the ground floor that no one goes into and another adjoining room next to it piled with furniture - emergency supplies from the golf hotel up the road, only temporarily located there. ||The walks around Leonardslee gardens are lovely and far more enjoyable and quiet than the walks at Wakehurst Place nearby. ||The breakfast here at the weekend was a hamper placed outside the door at 9am. Some may be disappointed with this but it’s actually excellent quality and prepared by the Michelin star Interlude team, so far better than many hotel breakfasts. The only thing is there wasn’t anywhere to eat it with any dignity in the room. ||They need to bring up a little collapsible table with the hamper to set it up on and maybe provide slightly larger plates - the Croissant crumbs got everywhere. ||We stayed two nights and had one meal at The Pass by Ben Wilkinson, six minutes walk away at South Lodge Hotel, and one at Interlude. That’s probably the most I would recommend to stay as besides the garden walks, there isn’t an awful lot to do.

This was a gift from my husband and we were both very disappointed with our stay. This is the only hotel I have ever visited that charges London prices, that doesn’t serve a proper breakfast, but a hamper at 9 o’clock. This would be ok, if the hamper had some delicious breakfast offerings, somewhere to sit to eat the food and a fresh supply of teabags. |We sat on the floor to eat the food, which was 2 x plain croissants, 2 x rusks, 2 x yoghurt pot with 1cm of yoghurt at the bottom, some cheese, ham and salmon wrapped up. A small bottle of milk, orange juice and apple juice. The whole idea needs a rethink.||Our room was lovely, comfy bed and sheets. Great shower room. ||We had the taster meal, which was fine, the service was good.
