My wife and I stayed at the Lifehouse spa and hotel in October after we received a package stay as a wedding present from some friends. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very contemporary and the spa facilities are excellent. We both enjoyed our massage treatments.||The restaurant was also excellent as was the quality of food on offer and the service provided. We were taken care of by Mandy who was friendly, informative and couldn’t do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. She greeted us again with a friendly welcome for breakfast the following morning.||We really enjoyed our experience and are planning to treat ourselves regularly to return visits back to the hotel.||Would thoroughly recommend a visit there to any couple who might be in search of an escape from day to day life to indulge in some much needed tranquility.||Well done to all the staff at the hotel who took care of us.||Maria & Keith

Me and my wife booked a spa day / overnight stay in the hotel. We had a lovely relaxing time and both had a very good back massage.

Food was lovely and generally we enjoyed our stay. The staff were generally friendly but where we were let down and why I am going giving 4 stars is how we were spoken too by some of the staff and where we were not told certain things. I can't be bothered to go into the details but it felt like at time we were being told off like naughty school children, for example asking for flip-flops as we were not given any!!

Wow, fabulous spa/hotel/restaurant, so peaceful, amazing restaurant, very relaxing beautiful venue. Highly recommended! Accessible room as requested, great disabled change room/shower/toilet. We both found the beds very comfortable, loved the Juliet balcony, as we could leave the door open when it was warm. Stunning venue, top notch food. My friend had the langoustine risotto, which she raved about, I had hummous for starter and then ham terrine which was lush. Dessert was amazing, so inventive and delicious. Spa was fabulous and I really appreciated that the disabled shower room had a separate seating area for me to get dressed on, rather than using the same seat I had just showered on, which usually happens. Disabled parking right outside the entrance, bedroom directly opposite the lift. Definitely planning a return trip in January.

(A little better than average, but it went from average to very good - no option for ‘good’)||I’ve been to this hotel spa many times over the years and I noticed that there’s been quite a few changes since my last visit. We were welcomed really nicely and the staff were all very friendly and helpful, except a couple of people who i guess may have either been new or just a bit shy because i had to ask them to repeat themselves as we were confused about what they were explaining.||Our twin room was strange but only because our beds were on opposite sides of the room, which I’ve never experienced before in a twin room, regardless of who you are sharing with you’re going to be comfortable in close quarters and it was just strange being so far apart. No biggie though. ||The next thing was that there was no fridge in the room - so we had to put up with room temperature water to hydrate us (no complementary bottled water either).||I went with my niece and both of our treatments were great, really relaxing and couldn’t fault the beauticians.||The restaurant and food options have changed a great deal. I was telling my niece beforehand how much she will adore the food and how great it is, all being healthy but all yummy too. But now it’s just the same type of hotel food you’d expect anywhere else. The breakfast particularly used to be so much on offer, granola of all kinds, lots of healthy options, honey and preserves from local farms, an array of pastries and if you asked you could have cooked breakfast options. This visit was less of an emphasis on health - lots of cooked breakfast options, a toast machine and a small selection of cereals and pastries. I don’t mean to sound really demanding but I was a little disappointed about this aspect.||All of the little issues combined just made it no where near as incredible as it used to be. I really hate to say this because Lifehouse Spa has always been a really special treat and experience. ||I haven’t made my mind up whether I would return again.

I have been few times before but for Afternoon Tea and Lunch but in the evening the restaurant takes on a whole new vibe. Very sophisticated and a real ambience. The hotel is situated in beautiful gardens which are well worth exploring. We had a garden room which was lovely, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the gardens and weather. However, the room was not air conditioned, and we stayed on a very warm weekend. A fan was provided but nevertheless it was hard to cool the room enough to sleep comfortably.
We had dinner at the hotel which was tasty, and we had spa treatments which we both enjoyed. We also made use of the pool and spa facilities which were of a high standard.

We enjoyed our stay on the whole but it could have been improved .
The hot breakfast is served by one member of staff, we were 13th in the queue .
The fried eggs were brought out a few at a time which also prolonged the queue . It strikes me this was an inefficient way of serving breakfast . I waited 7 minutes and when the egg arrived it was cold .
The staff were helpful but not proactive , we had to ask for the bread to be refilled .
But the facilities were good if busy at times
The grounds are lovely and we enjoyed walking these
