The hotel's location is excellent, situated right by the river and surrounded by beautiful gardens, offering a peaceful and scenic environment. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any request. I witnessed that the cleaning is done regularly and thoroughly, ensuring a pleasant and hygienic atmosphere.

The breakfast menu is rich, filling, and nutritious, offering a wide range of options that cater to various tastes. As for dinner, while the prices may be a bit on the higher side, there is still a diverse menu available to choose from.

The hotel provides plenty of leisure options, making it a great place to relax and enjoy various activities.

However, there were a couple of issues that affected my overall experience. First, the soundproofing in the rooms is almost nonexistent. The noise from the rooms next door was so loud that it felt as though the people were in our room. This is a significant issue, as a quiet room is an important factor for comfort during a stay. Secondly, despite selecting a room with a view, the windows were very dirty, which was disappointing considering the otherwise beautiful surroundings.

While I’ve mentioned many positive aspects of the hotel, the first issue—poor soundproofing—unfortunately led me to decide that I would not return to this hotel, nor would I recommend it to others. This detail, while it may seem minor, is crucial for creating a truly enjoyable stay.

Booked a spa treatment to treat our Nan for her 80th birthday, as she had never had a facial. Also booked in for afternoon tea in the Waterside restaurant and it was amazing.
We were running a few minutes late and the staff in the spa were so understanding. They made us feel so welcome, the atmosphere was so calming and relaxing, the staff were lovely and the facial was incredible!
We headed over to the restaurant for afternoon tea- they put a lovely message on our Nan’s plate and the food was gorgeous.
We would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be back- thank you ☺️

We had a lovely weekend with all of the family.
The room was very clean, comfortable and bright but bathroom could do with updating. Reception staff very welcoming and helpful.
The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious and plentiful and the service was fantastic; they couldn't do enough for us, were friendly, professional and were very accommodating to our party of 9.
We went for a swim and that was lovely, a good sized pool with fabulous lighting and a jacuzzi and sauna too. Again, lovely, helpful staff and very clean facilities.
I will definitely return and will recommend 😊

We booked a spa day for my partners birthday. We weren't advised of what wasn't working/available in advance which was disappointing. The heating in the restaurant, experience showers and sauna were all out of order. My partners massage with Sam was amazing. Mine wasn't great at all. But the positives, tapas was nice and working facilities were lovely. Would I pay £90 again and was it value for money? No.

We arrived at the Lyons Quay Hotel and were greeted warmly before we were asked if we'd stayed before, which we hadn't. We were checked-in efficiently and went to our room on the ground floor, which was meant to be a feature room. Unfortunately, the only feature we could detect was a prominent smell of damp. Two months prior, I'd organised for a bottle of Tattinger in the room on arrival. What met us was a bottle of Lanson in an ice bucket, with a cupful of cold water and a glass with a rim smeared in bright red lipstick. I took the bottle, bucket and glasses back to reception, explained the situation and politely asked for a room with a bath. The receptionist was helpful and said he would organise the champagne and took us to view another room straight away. We accepted the room immediately because, although it was dated and in dire need of refurbishment, it didn't smell. Unfortunately, we later discovered stains on the bed-throw, carpet and wallpaper. There were also scuff marks on the wall and light fittings that didn't work, missing light bulbs and a poorly fitted picture lamp. The telephone then rang and we quickly discovered it didn't work either. I asked the member of staff ringing to call my mobile but they didn't. It was all too much so we went out shopping. On our return, I telephoned reception from my mobile to ask about the champagne but was told it wasn't available. I pointed out that we'd ordered it well in advance and that we hadn't received the Prosecco promised with our room rate. In response, the member of staff offered me another mediocre (at best) champagne and then, when I didn't accept it, he tried to sell me Veuve Cliquot for £115. For those who don't know, that's quite a mark-up for a mass-produced champagne. When I refused it, the response was a somewhat inadequate 'apologies' and then the conversation ended. Our breakfast in the morning was nothing special and when we left, we said goodbye to the four staff talking by the door and they happily ignored us. At checkout, we weren't asked if we enjoyed our stay, which is something one becomes accustomed to when departing a quality hotel. We left extremely dissatisfied, disappointed and feeling invisible. In summary, given the amount charged for the stay, one would expect a clean, modern room with an attentive service. This hotel fails dismally on both accounts.

Just had a wonderful Spa day. Arrived early to be greeted by a friendly, professional receptionist, Abi. She greeted us with a smile and explained our day and the facilities before accompanying us to our room. She ensured that we had everything we needed, we had a wonderful fruit platter mid morning and a fantastic tapas lunch, which was served by Tracey, she was wonderful too, making sure we had everything we needed. A great day with great staff, thank you.

I was really apprehensive before arriving due to the most recent reviews, however I could not fault this place. All staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely, the rooms were clean and tidy. They added a thoughtful touch leaving us a bottle of fizz and a treat saying “Happy birthday” for my partners birthday. The Spa was the best part for me, it was gorgeous with lots of different facilities. I would definitely return. 🙂
