My husband and I enjoyed our one night stay at Little Dane Guest House. Rod was a perfect host and as soon as we arrived he greeted us and showed us to our room. He asked us what we would like for breakfast the next day and what time would best suit us. I chose a cooked breakfast which was very tasty and the sausages were bought locally in the high street. The Guest house is 550 years old and comes with some history which was interesting and the garden has a beautiful Japanese theme. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was very clean and it felt very cosy. Thanks for making our stay a pleasant one Rod.. Paul and Carrie 😊

Really lovely place, the Oriental themes are a nice touch and not overdone. Bonsai trees in the garden are beautiful. Popped in very quickly for just the one night, wish we had time to stay a little longer and explore the area. Thanks Rod for the hospitality.

We booked Little Dane Court as we were attending Chapel Down for a wine-tasting tour. Little Dane was about a 10-minute taxi ride away. |Situated in the heart of Tenterden, Little Dane is a 15th century building, that runs as a B&B. It’s located about a 4-minute walk from the village centre, which has a variety of pubs and restaurants. It also offers private parking, which sits off the main road, in a private, little courtyard. |Our room was oldy worldly, with a modern bathroom attached. Having browsed the other rooms on site, our room was the most dated by far!|The booking came with a complimentary breakfast which consisted of a full English and or a continental. We dined alfresco in the courtyard the morning of our leave and it was a pleasant experience, particularly with the weather being lovely. The tranquil surroundings just added to the experience and the breakfast was delicious. It was even made on arrival as opposed to pre-heated, which was a considerate touch.|Dom, the owner and his assistant (unfortunately forgotten his name) were very accommodating. |Slight criticism is the price. We felt it was a tad too high, considering we only stayed the one night - Especially as we couldn't check in until 4 pm, and had to be out by 10 am the following morning.

We had a one-night stay at Little Dane Court, in July this year.||We'd very much recommend it. |It's a comfortable place to stay, with plenty of character and original oak beams with lovely garden.||The owner of this B & B is very welcoming, and knowledgeable about the local area. We had a delicious cooked breakfast next morning, and he's ideally situated, on the High Street. We visited Chapel Down Vineyard while there. |He was also happy to recommend a reliable taxi company who do regular trips and from the Vineyard.||We would definitely come back, if visiting Tenterden again.

Lovely house and beautiful garden, great base for our trip to Tenterden. We could hear other guests above us but it’s an old house and did not spoil our stay. Mattress and pillows really comfortable and room nicely decorated. Thank you Rod I am sure we will be back.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Little Dane Court for a weekend, whilst attending our god daughter’s wedding. We had stayed there 12 years ago, just as the current host, had taken over and had thoroughly enjoyed our stay then, hence the rebooking. ||Very pleased that we did as the B&B lived up to all expectations and beyond. We stayed in the Front room, where we had stayed before and slept well in very comfortable beds. The ensuite bathroom needs to be seen to be believed and the bath is certainly the centre point of the room, is it possible to have bath envy?||The whole house is fascinating mixture of historical periods, which our host, Rod, was only too happy to talk about. The atmosphere is relaxed, calm and friendly. We enjoyed sitting on the enclosed quiet patio, as well as walking around the Japanese garden.||Breakfasts are relaxing and friendly with lots of opportunity to chat to other guests, if that’s what you want. I and our friends very much enjoyed the cooked breakfast, however there was no meat alternative for vegetarians.||Rod is a VERY charming host with a wonderful dry sense of humour, who went above and beyond to make our stay particularly enjoyable and relaxing. We will certainly stay there again and would highly recommend this a great place to stay.

A wonderful overnight stay at Little Dane Court, while visiting the local vineyard. Rod was very hospitable, facilities were excellent, breakfast was plentiful and the property was characterful with stunning gardens and easy off road parking. Situated in close walking distance to Tenterden High Street, bars and restaurants. Thoroughly recommend and will definitely visit again. Thank you from Nina and David.

FYI those young men working here are not getting paid. Including me we are doing volunteer jobs here. When Rod introduced me to the guests as ā€˜being trained’ here it sounds a bit weird because I’m helping here as a friend. Long story short Rod treated me like I’m a servant, most of my friends say slave after they heard the story. If you do have the time to read all my stories and don’t think I’m being mad and taking revenge I would appreciate it.

An update: based on things I mentioned here and many things recorded by the police, it is being investigated as hate crime. I deeply thank everyone who offered help and comfort for me these days.

In case Rod’s furious red face becomes other helpers’ nightmare I decided to write all these. Of course he’ll have a different version of the story. I'm going to try to avoid adjectives/ā€œall the timeā€and say ā€œI feel,ā€so that you can distinguish between ā€œfactā€and ā€œopinion.ā€ I suggest you to do the same reading his comments.

I have seen that furious face for 4 times in 10 days I worked here, on the last time I decided to leave and finally feel relieved. For each time time he yelled ā€˜for god sake you Chinese people are so paranoid about washing dishes, in this country our chemicals are not as toxic as yours in China’;’can you put the things back after using it so that I don’t have to clean up for you every single time-a long pause while I was shocked and guessing, and he showed me the coffee filter I put on the table to dry-I don’t care if it’s wet or not’; ā€˜for god sake you’re acting like you’re on a funeral, in this country we smile, you’re not in China or Japan’ when there’s no customers in the house and I was vacuuming the room alone; ā€˜can you do something instead playing with your phone’ after I asked many times should I do other things and he replied no need and didn’t tell me anything else to do.

I did everything you asked me to do. But for things I wasn’t told to do you can say to me first friendly. After I said that he apologized but then there goes the 4th time. I would describe his toxic, to me the house is full of risks that I’ll be yelled at. That horrible face may come to me any second and I have to guess why.

I believe such personality can make him a great hotel’s manager or a fantastic gardener, but all my helper fellows, think twice before you come here.

The only thing I found amusing was the lessons about more than 10 things: ā€˜in this country we…not like in China or Japan’. I learned how great Britain is. I won’t call that racist, but I won’t become like that.
