We have just returned from a week at Loch Awe Hotel with Lochs and Glens. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly. The food was in plentiful supply - and if you wanted more of anything, or a different variation of breakfast, you only had to ask. The staff were so helpful. The hotel is an amazing feat of Victorian gothic architecture - like something out of Harry Potter. We loved it - so atmospheric. (If it is modern and sleek you are after - this one isn’t for you! ) The views out over the Loch are amazing… I could never go passed the window at the top of the stairs on the second floor without stopping to view the Loch, ruined castle and breathtaking snow capped mountains. |I must mention the fabulous coach drivers, who made our holiday - Dave, his wife Wendy and also Roddy the local ! All were brilliant drivers, founts of knowledge, and great fun. I must also thank Rebekah, the hotel manager. She was absolutely lovely, and her whole team are a credit to her - they are like one big happy family ! Also a thank you to Declan, a newbie to the staff. He really looked after us and was such an asset to the team. ||I whole heartedly recommend Lochs and Glens holidays. Most of the trips out were great. The Scottish scenery is breathtaking, especially Glen Coe. The trip to Stirling was very interesting. The only negative of the whole holiday was we were left too long in Fort William and Helensburgh - but that is only a tiny negative compared to the rest of the holiday.

What a wonderful place ,the staff were very friendly , its very well run, they have some decent management as well , the rooms were impeccable , one of our party has some mobility issues and these were well catered for. Nothing was too much to do i get the feeling if they could have made the Loch(which is right in front of the hotel) heated ,then that could have been its swimming pool.Food was outstanding, I particularly enjoyed the Haggis.

Our third holiday with Lochs and Glenns and we were disappointed from the off as we had a contract coach and driver. No commentary which we had previously. Not a complete disaster, but the food was. Judged against Ardgarten and Highland hotels this was more than poor. Same menu just badly cooked and presented. We resorted to eating out. Otherwise usual standard and we had glorious weather which was fabulous and made a great break. Oban at it's best, wonderful.

Really enjoyable hotel in a fabulous position on the shores of the loch. Food was wholesome & standard, but who needs smashed Avocado, bircher muesli and quinoa when you can have porridge, kippers and wholemeal toast ?
Staff are mainly young but attentive and kind. Generous bathroom & housekeeping spot on.
The tours with Lochs & Glens are great and took in the best of the places & scenery.
We will return.

Operated by coach holiday company Lochs and Glens, this hotel is set up for group travel however we booked as self drive guests and were happy with the welcome we received.||We have taken coach holidays in the past so are familiar with the product but on this occasion could find no trips to match our dates, so booked this hotel but drove ourselves. Our 4 night break cost around £115 per night for dinner, bed and breakfast.||We arrived a few minutes before the 4pm check in time and found a parking space outside the hotel. We were welcomed by the charming and efficient Marcus who told us how to find our room and that the key was in the door. We found a large modern room, even though the building itself is old, which was comfortably appointed and had a decent sized bathroom with a great walk in shower. We had opted for twin beds but were allocated a double room although this wasn't a major issue for us.||We were handed a letter informing us of our allocated meal times, which are set up for the majority of guests who are on the coach trips (3 coaches during our visit). It was possible to ask for changes to these times, but we were included at the time of the smallest coach party, so it was more convenient for everyone if we accepted the given time.||Mea!s were very efficient and more than acceptable and it was good to have some Scottish dishes like Haggis, Stotties and Cranacken on the dinner menu. You need to wait until you are called into the dining room before you enter.||Bar prices were reasonable, and you could charge these to your room or pay as you go. Each evening some form of entertainment was provided along with bingo, a quiz and a raffle on various evenings.||We did drive ourselves to Inverary, Oban, and Fort William avoiding the days that the three coaches visited those locations. The hotel has a railway station which gives access to the Oban / Glasgow line.||On our last morning we were allocated 8am breakfast and all of the coach parties had already departed, so there were only a few of us in the large dining area. We were asked to check out by 10 am.||Overall we enjoyed our brief stay . There were some improvement works taking place and it seemed that other areas had been redecorated but were lacking minor touches such as wall paintings, but we would happily return.

I had a 6-day holiday at Loch Awe, the staff were friendly and very helpful, rooms clean and warm. I had a beautiful view of the loch; the restaurant was well run and good food. Our coach driver was the spoiler in this holiday, she was a good driver but knew nothing of the area, our trips were silent except for time she would be picking us up, I have complained and told by Lochs and Glens they do not advertise a commentary so you do not always get one, our driver was not local and was contracted in from Cambridge I choose these holidays to learn about areas. very disappointed,

Lochs and glens - it is what it is. Yes the towels are small and the toilet paper is thin. The vegetables are of the care home variety. But the shower is hot and zingy. The room is toasty. The Loch view is breath taking. And the value for money is unbeaten and NO single supp
