We had a really lovely stay here, it was absolutely perfect. Alex and Finny were great hosts and Alex cooked a fantastic breakfast, nothing was too much trouble. Theres a fantastic room where you have breakfast that is dedicated to Nelson its a real must see room. The rooms are quite large with everything you should need in them. Alex is really knowledgable on history a real mind of information. Would definitely stay here again without any hesitation. Parking is on the side of the road but you get a pass so it was perfectly ok. Lombard House is in the perfect location 5 minutes from the sea and 5 minutes from Gun Wharf.

Finni and Alex are amazing hosts, who are eager to share their knowledge of the area, its history and sights. They are history buffs, and have toured the world acting as Lord Nelson and Lady Emma. Their dining room and filled with Lord Nelson memorabilia, including sabers, a full dress uniform, etc. Breakfasts were delicious and tailored to our taste. Finni is a fantastic cook!||Their garden is gorgeous...filled with blooming container plants and a comfortable bench. We stayed in the yellow room, which was very comfortable...but either the yellow or the blue room would be equally pleasant.||Finni and Alex's home is filled with whimsical and beautiful touches: stair bears, dangling crystals, gorgeous fabrics, etc. Staying with them was a wonderful experience!||As for the local sights, don't miss the promenade, and of course the historic dockyard...you could easily spend two full days seeing everything! The Mary Rose museum is a show stopper, an absolute must-see. Enjoy!!!

We stayed 2 nights here as part of a trip to the Isle of Wight and the South Downs as my husband wanted to visit the Historic Dockyards. The latter was just 15 minutes walk away. The B & B is just wonderful. The room was large, very attractive and spotlessly clean with a very comfy bed. The historic house is full of fascinating antiques and the historical knowledge of Alex was amazing with particular reference to Nelson. Unfortunately Finney had just broken her ankle so we didn't have a chance to really chat to her. Breakfast was good and there is parking on the street with a reduced fee permit from Alex. It was surprisingly quiet and very well situated for the Dockyards and the Ferry to the Isle of Wight.

What a wonderful find. Lombard House is full of character and charm. Alex and Finni were the perfect hosts. Very helpful and informative about local attractions and history. Breakfast was wonderful, everything you could want - cooked to perfection. It certainly kept us going throughout the day. Lombard House is ideally located to all attractions and everything is on the door step. Our room was large, bright and spacious. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We just loved it and will certainly be back.

Fantastic welcome , wealth of knowledge from both ALEX & FINNI ON Plymouth history especially Lord Nelson & The VICTORY . Wonderful house including their collection of antiques. We had a brilliant time and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. Thanks again looking forward to a return visit. We wish you both all the best for the future.

This is without doubt one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. Alex and Finny are warm, welcoming and just superb hosts. We would not fault anything - it is spotless, cosy, interesting and just brilliant - well done to both of you - you really do know perfection. We would love a return visit at some time in the future - thank you - and the scrambled egg was the best ever !!!

Stayed here recently rather than drive evening rush hour from Portsmouth to Cambridgeshire. Phoned ahead and booked and when we arrived I must admit I doubted it's legitimacy: cash only, no signs outside indicating that it's a B & B, no room key....||However it was this informality that actually made it such a relaxed and great place to stay. Think you've seen quirky? More Napoleonic memorabilia than most museums! The owners are authorities on the subject and if you're in to that history you'll be in your element. The room was large, clean & comfortable, breakfast was great (you certainly won't go hungry!) Owners really friendly, would highly recommend.

We chose this b & b from TripAdvisor reviews and what a great little place it turned out to be. The owners could not have been any more helpful. They assisted with parking on the street outside with a 24 hour permit.||The room was very comfortable with an ensuite shower room. Plenty of hot water. Breakfast included fresh fruit, cereals, toast & a full English of quality products and ample portions.||The hosts were very delightful to chat to and made us feel right at home. We would definitely recommend this b & b to anyone who doesn't have any problems with climbing stairs as the bedrooms are on the second floor and the breakfast room in the basement.
