Exceeded all expectations! We booked all rooms at the hotel for our wedding day, which with thanks to all staff at The Lords was perfect in every possible way. From wonderful front of house staff, through to very talented chefs and house-keeping staff (who made all rooms up so beautifully!), we could not fault the truly exceptional service. We would highly recommend this venue as a place to stay, dine, and indeed book for weddings. Hanna, our event manager, planned our day, which was seamless from start to end. Carl looked after us on the day, and his warmth, humour and professionalism is simply outstanding. And what Carl doesn't know about fine wine and dining, - probably isn't worth knowing! Thank you to all staff at the Lords for a truly faultless and exceptional stay!

Without doubt this is one of the best Hotels we have stayed in the UK. Starting with the excellent greeting and simple check-in process, our experience and expectations throughout our stay were met and exceeded. We had a lovely room (Wrigley) which merged the old features of the building into a modern and comfortable place for rest and relaxation. The level of service and professionalism of all staff again at the top end of our experience in the UK. Waiting staff be it bar, breakfast or dinner all extremely responsive and capable. Never kept waiting within requests fulfilled in a timely fashion. Our group of 7 enjoyed the Taster menu which was of an excellent standard and very well presented by the head waiter. My view is this level would stand a Michelin Star. The A la carte again of high standard. Very extensive breakfast menu with high quality buffet selection and served on cooked breakfast. The Hotel grounds are kept to a high standards providing an excellent backdrop for afternoon drinks in the Autumn sun. All in all a highly recommended Hotel.

This was my third visit to this glorious Cotswolds Hotel. This time for a birthday celebration with my family. My wife did all the leg work with party organiser Hanna to arrange the most perfect weekend. All the staff here are friendly and helpful; Bar manager Carl is always on hand with some local history and able to advise on places to visit. Special thanks also to Keegan who also looked after us impeccably. Our room (Travell) was perfect. Taster menu on the first night was incredible hosted by Carl. We had our own room for a 'party' on the second evening which was simply superb. The food and wine is all excellent. Plenty of choice in the bar too. Ample parking and ideally situated for exploring. Look forward to a return visit soon!

Arriving at this idyllic manor house, we received a warm welcome and were quickly helped to our room whilst our car was efficiently parked. It was a nice day, so we were soon enjoying a delicious cream tea on the lawn with some personal guests. Our Lords room was spacious and spotless, albeit with a few cheap fittings like the paper lampshades on the chandelier, and a lovely large, modern bathroom.||Having just enjoyed a large, late family Sunday lunch before our arrival, we were impressed when the hotel agreed to provide us with a shared delicious bar snack, accompanied with 2 glasses of the very nice house Rose and the “cheap” Merlot. There was no pressure to dine and we had a lovely first evening.||Breakfast the next day was delicious and varied, but staff were short in number and overworked, meaning that a coffee top-up required 3 requests, the last at the kitchen door, resulting in the replenishment taking as long as the original breakfast!| That evening we dined in the “gourmet” restaurant, rather than having the “tasting” menu, and it was then that things fell apart for us and our pair of private guests. Having asked in good time for our table reservation to be delayed from 1930-2000, we arrived in the cocktail bar at 1940 to find it unattended. After a 10-15 minute “drought”, we were eventually served by a harassed waiter with a well prepared round of drinks and supplied with restaurant menus. For a so called gourmet restaurant, the menu was bland and uninteresting. Unfortunately, the already disappointing situation then deteriorated further when, on attempting to order the Squid as starters and Cod as the mains, we were told BOTH were “off”. Even for a Monday this is not good enough in such a very expensive restaurant. Worse still, the substitute for the squid was a single, small, flat tasteless Pollock fishcake each, priced at the same £12/serving as the squid. Having resorted to chicken or the cod substitute sea bass fillet for mains, the chicken was bland and rubbery, whilst the frozen sea bass fillet was TINY, all charged at Michelin prices. The staff were very kind, but were again short in number and, despite looking after us to the very best of their abilities, our very expensive evening was a huge let down for us and our guests, and was certainly not as advertised.||In short, a lovely hotel with equally lovely staff, but there are not enough of them and the so-called gourmet restaurant is not!! We did not try the tasting menu but, if that is not to your taste, you should consider eating out in the evening, whilst looking forward to the very good breakfast.

Most charming and beautiful hotel. Pure class from beginning to end. Neal and Sydney took such good care of us that we felt like we were on our honeymoon! We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and they took care of all the details for us in order for us to see the Cotswalds. It was an amazing place to eat each morning for tea and breakfast. We just adored Fione who served us during lunch one day. Pure Irishman who was a delight! We met the gardeners who cared for the property. Just lovely. The room was tidy each day by Hannah and her staff. Everything was perfect!! We can’t say enough good things about it!

We spent a week at the Lords of the Manor. It is an exceptional country manor turned into a hotel. It is very luxurious but comfortable and not over the top, beautifully situated in the tiny village of Upper Slaughter. It is elegantly but not fussily furnished. The service is exceptional...the staff are without exception friendly, helpful and efficient. The main restaurant ("The Dining Room") is very good and has enough variety on the menu so that we had something different every time we dined there, although the menu only changes once a week. The Atrium, an on-site gourmet restaurant, is quite extraordinary. It is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in England, and I don't doubt it.|There are no other commercial establishments in Upper Slaughter, but Lower Slaughter (marginally more lively) is a few miles away by foot along a quiet country road, and if you nare interested in shopping or eating or sightseeing, the local are is rich with options. If you are a hiker/walker, there is a network of footpaths everywhere. We drove to some walks, but also spent several days walking from the hotel.|The whole Cotswold area is simply gorgeous, although I guess it gets pretty crowded in peak season. in early May we had it pretty much to ourselves.

Visited for afternoon tea on our wedding anniversary. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival especially as we had our dog with us. The hotel does seem very dog friendly as stated.|The food was excellent and good value for money. |However it was the staff that were the real standout part of the visit. Most of the staff we dealt with wished us a happy anniversary and were very attentive and professional.|Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Absolute delightful. Beautiful place.

We stayed four nights and explored the area. The staff from reception to dining room to housekeeping were superb, welcoming, professional and helpful.

The restaurant was the best in the area and beyond with lovely food and helpful staff.

We were advised on local places to visit together with times and were never disappointed.

Will definitely bring the family back as it felt like a home away from home

Thank you to everyone for making the trip perfect.
