Stayed at the Loughborough Grange for one night. We were booked on the Great Central railway murder mystery event so stayed over in town.|Firstly, the hotel has plenty of parking, both in front and behind the building. We were warmly greeted by our host and shown to our room. Ordered the breakfast we wanted at check in.|The room was a bit on the small side but was clean and warm. En-suite, with an electric shower, towels and toiletries. We were given the door code to get in after 10:00pm, which we needed of course. The following morning (Saturday), breakfast is served 8:00 to 10:00, although it may be different times in the week. Very comprehensive, breakfast with a variety of cereals, self service toast, preserves, yoghurts, tea, coffee and juices; then we were served a very nice full English breakfast (vegetarian option also available).|All in all we were pleased with our stay at the Loughborough Grange and consider it to be very good value.

5* experience from start to finish, such an amazing family run business. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Me and my partner went for our anniversary and we had a couples massage with sauna and steam room and got to try some lovely Thai food too. Even though we didn't book to stay the night they accommodated for us to stay even on a busy Saturday night. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone, definitely going back again soon.

This is a small family run guesthouse with only a handful of rooms. It is very outdated, the interior is old and there are only narrow stairs but no lift, so we had to carry our suitcases up the stairs.We booked a double room with shower. One thing we found really weird is there is no toilet inside the room. There is only a shared toilet, which was not specified when we booked. The shower is also not separated by a door, it looks very old and the drain seems a bit cloaked, temperature could be very hot or cold.The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room temperature was very cold the first night but when asked they helped us turn on the heating.This place really is just a guesthouse. Do not expect it to be like a hotel. But the staff are friendly.

I visited the massage center twice, and my experiences were quite different.

My first visit was for a deep tissue massage, and it was fantastic. The therapist was professional and skilled, effectively relieving my tension and leaving me feeling rejuvenated.

Unfortunately, my second visit was disappointing. I tried a different massage with another therapist who seemed tired and didn't apply enough pressure. The technique was lacking as well; there wasn't a flow to the massage that I could feel, which made it less effective. As a result, I didn’t experience any noticeable benefits.

While my first experience was excellent, the inconsistency in service quality is concerning.

*Safety concern for young women/ families*

We stayed here for a wedding on Friday 23rd September. Located very well and were accommodating when we needed to get ready. We arrived back at around 11pm and went straight to our room.

At around midnight, someone persistently tried to get into our room using the correct key. Thankfully I had locked both the door lock and had the deadbolt locked. My wife shouted “wrong room” 3 times and banged on the inside of the door to which they kept trying, only leaving and saying “Sorry I didn’t know anyone was here” when I myself (a man) woke up and told them to go away.

I left a note on checkout with my phone number to ask for an explanation and had no response. I then phoned later in the day to ask their reasons and was told that sometimes the staff go into the rooms to shut the windows if guests haven’t come back (our windows weren’t open the whole time we were in the room).

I was told yesterday that I would get a response shortly after the owner/ boss had figured out what had happened. There is CCTV outside of room 12 so this shouldn’t take a long time.

At the point of writing I have received no explanation and the hotel have not answered my further two phone calls.

This review will be staying up until I get a response I am happy with as to why the staff feel it appropriate to let themselves into the rooms of guest while they sleep, ignore a young female telling them to go away and only deem it neccesary to leave when they hear a man’s voice.
