It’s always a pleasure to visit Lucy’s Coffee Shop, situated inside the Southwood Garden Centre.
There’s a great menu with lots of sweet treats (and icecream) to tempt you if you are looking for coffee and a cake rather than a meal. Gluten free cakes are available and also gf toast etc
The cafe is large and spacious with plenty of room between tables; there’s also a great outdoor area but today’s cold and very wet conditions meant that we all stayed indoors.
Toilets are towards the back of the cafe and there is an access ramp from the garden centre into the cafe rather than steps.
Staff and cheerful, polite and professional with very quick service.

Staff seems happy, relaxed. Coffe shop is clean and tidy. Food is not to bad but not cheep. About 3-7 pounds more than in other coffe shops. This is for breakfast for 1 person.....

If extra eggs for breakfast required £6.50 for two extra beans £5.50 40 baked beans and extra mushrooms 6 halves £6.50. What an extortionate ridiculous amount

Who runs out of chips? What can we substitute it with? Can we look at a menu to see what you stock? Do you do Sweet potato? Do you do Wedges? Do you do Hash browns? I'll check....

Come here on a few occasions, each time the food has been lovely but was disappointed today with the Prawn Marie Rose sandwich, they where cold water little prawns with no taste and the sauce was non existent ( watery), it was not value for money with the food today at all. Also the iced coffee here is awful very very bland.

However a lovely waitress made me a banana and peanut butter milkshake ( said she had never done one before and that no one had asked for one before) it was absolutely lovely! 👌 😋 would definitely have that again!

Overall a nice atmosphere and visit just dissapointed with the prawns this time
I would return…but choose something else!

Visited the cafe today for the first time and was so impressed. The tables were cleared immediately customers had left them so the cafe looked tidy and clean. The food was very good. Excellent selection of meals for small and larger appetites. The staff were lovely and friendly, especially Rachael. Good wheelchair facilities and Rachael found us a table with room for the wheelchair even though the cafe was very busy. We will definitely be going back.

Not as good as expected, chefs struggled to clear orders while staff were talking at other end just out of ear shot of the bell, he told Who looked to be manageress, nothing changed, had dog sat at tables, beyond the table seven rule, food was below par, tough bacon, (snotty), couldn't complain as mightve took another 20 minutes,, not for us
