I had the "gel manicure" done here today (see pic of what I wanted vs what I got) and I've got to say there are many places that do A LOT better for cheaper. My previous gel was not properly removed and the actual "manicure" part itself consisted of a brief exfoliation of my hands and slathering my hands in cream and plastic gloves before leaving me sat in the chair for ages whilst the lady did something else. The cuticle work (the most vital part of any manicure if you ask nail techs!!) was minimal, basically she pushed them back a bit. The finish isn't at all professional and the whole process was not in any way relaxing, especially considering the lady I had couldn't understand me properly and the staff were all speaking in another language, clearly about me as they kept looking my way and laughing. The lady who did my nails also kept commenting on the size of my body which made me extremely uncomfortable. I haven't a problem with the staff themselves; they all seemed lovely but their professionalism (both interpersonal and with their work) was questionable to say the least. I can't speak for any of the other services offered here, but I would recommend going elsewhere for any sort of nail work. I would appreciate a reply from the owners as I would like at least a partial refund because the finish I got is not at all what I asked for or indeed what was offered.
EDIT: 4 days later and they've already started peeling!! I had my previous gels I got somewhere else on for three weeks and only had them taken off because they'd grown out; they hadn't peeled or chipped.
PS still no reply from the owners!!

Had Sheffields first Japanese head spa treatment with Becky, she was lovely, friendly and very professional.

The Japanese head spa was super relaxing, very thorough and included a mini facial and neck massage which she didn’t rush. The whole treatment was very therapeutic!

Overall my experience was one of a kind, and given the way I was treated and how amazing the head spa experience was, I would highly recommend it!

I can wholeheartedly recommend Ada as a wonderful and very friendly masseuse. She is very skillful and made me relax after a hard day's work so quickly and well. I'll be using her services again in the future for sure, very impressed.

Super unprofessional. Hard upselling the second I got in, answered the phone whilst treating, felt overall super rushed and was finished 15 minutes before I was supposed to be considering I also paid extra for LED therapy when there so if anything I should've been there longer. Later turned out I paid £10 extra for absolutely nothing if the treatment book is to be followed. I'm sure for massage or nails this place is great but for facials it's a no.

I booked here using a groupon voucher and I wish I’d seen some of these reviews before going. A man in a suit welcomed me at reception then proceeded to do the facial himself. He was trying to hard sell other options almost from the beginning. He didn’t use gloves for the whole treatment and his hands smelled badly. The products used didn’t seem good quality and I was left with a cheap face mask on for 15 mins ‘to relax’ with lots of noise in the background. During the treatment, he left the door open and seemed to be keeping an eye on the other staff members. Something felt very strange about the whole situation.

I left feeling pretty gross and scammed. I’m really glad I didn’t opt for the extra treatments but I’m sure some people would feel pressured into this and later regret it.

I have also seen this business responding to reviews saying they should have said they were dissatisfied at the time. At no point did I feel comfortable enough to express that, I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. An all together uncomfortable experience.

This was my first time booking in with Lux laser & beauty clinic and it will certainly be last. I arrived for my appointment that had been booked for almost 2 weeks. I turned up, they welcomed me in & asked me to fill in a form. After filling in the form, the woman on the desk asked me what my appointment was for so I replied with acrylic nails. She continued to ask me how I’d booked the appointment. I said Booksy. She went away and rang someone, she later came back and told me the person who I was booked in with was not available as she been off sick for a couple of days. I asked why I was never rang or informed about the cancellation of my appointment as I had now took the time to actually pay for parking for the duration of my ‘expected’ appointment. And to make things worse, Booksy appointment was put down as a ‘no show’. Will most definitely not be going back.
