We had a really lovely stay. It was a birthday treat from my husband and I enjoyed every second! The pool/spa facilities were fantastic, I had a lovely back/shoulder massage and we used the pool area both afternoons. The food was amazing! Every member of staff we spoke too was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Lovely few days visiting Northumberland. Hotel is well situated in beautiful grounds which were excellent at night for star gazing.
We had an accessible room (no 4) which was well appointed to meet my needs as a wheelchair user and a few tweaks would bring it up to 5 stars. The room itself was probably in need of a little refurbishment but the bed was very comfy, the seating area was a bonus and the bathroom had everything we needed. It was not always convenient to have to travel through the spa area to reach the room as we felt quite guilty walking through with a dog with muddy paws thus disturbing those seeking a tranquil spa experience.
My husband used the pool and found it to be better than many other hotels we’d stayed at and he enjoyed the facilities provided.
Dinner was taken both evenings in the Linden Tree and this was excellent. The food was well presented and very tasty. James, who served us, was particularly helpful and chatty. He ensured the ramp was in place before we arrived and a suitable table was made available.
We had breakfast both mornings and the cooked options were varied and tasty. The continental selection was fine, if lacking in variety. Service was good and again, access needs were taken into consideration.
All in all a very good stay and we are likely to stay again.

Overall for the price we paid I can’t really complain. We traveled as a family of 4, with our kids age 8 and 6. Checking was quick and the receptionist was very helpful. Our room was spacious and very cosy on arrival, both kids had camp beds to sleep on which they found exciting 😆 the double bed however was so uncomfortable.|The pool area (especially the changing area) could definitely do with a good clean, we still enjoyed using the facilities though.|Breakfast wasn’t the best, we waited a while and when it did arrive it felt like it had sat for a while. |Overall we all enjoyed our stay, we probably would return but probably in the summer when we could then enjoy the surroundings.

It’s a beautiful hotel, set in stunning grounds, feels like some big old stately Home like Downtown Abby!
The service was excellent, all the staff were very friendly. Oh and the linden Tree, their pub serves the most delicious food. I will definitely return.

Sadly, the hotel bathroom needed some attention. Dirty looking tiles in shower. Towels so rough to touch and spa robes ripped and very tatty (large holes under arm, pockets hanging off and loops for belts ripped). These were also so rough to the touch. Bar food and breakfast was lovely. Very high quality meals which I’d give a 4. I’d give an 5 but we couldn’t eat dinner in hotel which was a shame and breakfast was a bit fatty having to walk past lots of diners to get items. Bar staff and breakfast staff lovely. Reception very friendly but we had to repeatedly ask for the beds to be separated into twin room set up. Spa staff very helpful but the spa facilities were a bit shabby and need an overhaul. Lots of dirty cups left in relaxation room too and couldn’t find clean cups when we returned, although spa staff helped us straight away when asked. They also replayed ripped robe however it was a similar standard. Overall, enjoyed staying there and it’s a great location for visiting Alnwick, but I was disappointed for my friend as it was a birthday gift, so at the moment I’d say it’s not 4 star hotel, to be honest.

A fantastic venue. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The family room we had was very spacious. The food at the attached pub was exceptional quality and quantity for a decent price. The spa facilities were a lovely bonus which the whole family enjoyed.

Drove down from Glasgow and had a wonderful 2 nights away with my partner. The location and hotel is beautiful with such friendly and helpful staff. Sharron in reception made our stay so much easier! We had drinks upon arrival and had breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner included, along with an Elemis treatment at the spa which was a perfect addition. Very romantic, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely come back and recommend! Thank you for our wonderful stay.

Lovely stay, lovely hotel but could do with an update. Not very good signage to the restaurant which made it confusing. Food was absolutely beautiful can’t fault that, treatments were amazing. Would stay again.
