Stayed here just after Christmas 2016 with my wife to get away from the holiday madness in Dublin. This was our first time renting an Irish Landmark Trust property, and upon our arrival we were pleasantly surprised. The property was beautiful and well kept both inside and out. It had modern comforts mixed with old world charm. We stopped and picked up some light shopping as we planned to sit in 2 of the 3 nights and relax by the fire. The kitchen had everything we needed stove, oven, refrigerator, kettle, coffee press, and cooking utensils. The bathroom was excellent with a tub and shower, and the stone tile flooring throughout the property was heated, which my husband loved because he forgot to bring slippers. We brought books, cards, and scrabble and spent our evenings by the fire reading and playing games. During the days we went sightseeing, with all of the major attractions a short drive away, including Giants Causeway, The Dark Hedges, and several Castles and parks. The lodge is perfect If you are looking to get away for a romantic, or relaxing few nights, and want to enjoy the Irish countryside. However, if you are wanting to go out every night in town for dinner and drinks, you will have to drive. If you are not from Ireland there is a 0 tolerance for drink driving here and the road to town, though a short 5-10 minute drive, is narrow and curvy.

Very nice place to stay a couple of nights.
Quite isolated from everything though. There's only that other big house (with people living in) a couple of minutes walking.
There's no option to go for a walk or run or even to unleash your dog, as everything's open and with a very narrow and busy road right next to the house.

It's a very nice place if you're only planning to stay within the house or to move with the car. The house is very well equipped, full bathroom, two bedrooms (1 double bed + 1 with bunk beds), living room, and dining room with full kitchen, that had everything (even dishwasher).

While in there we could visit Ballycastle, The Giant Causeway, Portrush and some other lovely towns in the area.
All very recommendable.

Great location for its proximity to Ballycastle and the surrounding towns. Beautifully maintained period building, some nice modern comforts (e.g. underfloor heating) without ruining the rustic appeal. Only possible improvement would be to have WiFi or even a TV as there's only so many board and card games you can play of an evening.

Fantastic cottage in the middle of nowhere but close enough by drive to Ballycastle for all amenities. Cottage is heated with underfloor heating and a log fire. Not enough logs provided to get us through the evening. We had to buy more for the following nigt. Despite the radiator being on full blast in the bedroom it was freezing in there. However once under the bed covera you found yourselves sweating a few hours later. I noticed a second bedroom with bunk beds we didn't used, seemed to be freezing in there as well. Facilities were very good, although couldn't get hot water to work. In the morning but that may have been due to the storm. There is no TV or Internet here so please bear that in mind. Tea and coffee supplied but no milk. Perfect for our needs.
