We stayed at Magpie Cottages for three nights after getting married at Hyde Bank Farm. Liz was a fantastic host and we loved our stay from start to finish. The place is so peaceful and the spa was a great treat to relax. I also booked a full body massage which was fantastic! Highly recommend a stay here.

Just arrived back from an 4 days camp at Lowerdale. Exceptional from start to finish. The ponies settled straight away, such a peaceful and well kept yard. All the staff are so friendly and willing to help/answer questions. The cottage was home from home. Very comfortable, clean with all the facilities! The Spa - what a highlight! The treatments were perfect, definitely not waiting til next year camps to experience that again! Our lessons were with Danielle, so friendly and supportive, foundation of knowledge and I’ve taken so much away with me! Can’t wait to be back. Amazing! Thank you everyone x x x x

A HIDDEN GEM.
A wonderful place to stay with great facilities. The cottage was fabulous, high end finish with everything and more you could have needed. A great place for the family to stay, or just like we did, a great escape for two for a long weekend

Additional facilities were also amazing. We used the sauna, steam and hot tub which each cottage has slots available to them.

Ian and Liz were fantastic hosts looking after us and running a brilliant place to bisot and stay

Just got back from our 2nd horsecamp this year which we would highly recommend the horses stayed inbeautiful stables, bedding hay-hayledge & grazing we're included whilst we stayed inone off lovely cottages
...inbetween our lessons we used the spa plus we had a spa treatment 1 day
Dog friendly
Homemade food if required which was just lovely
Can't wait to go back next year ?

Lovely cottages, very equipped, spacious, wonderful surroundings ideal for long walks with a few pubs around to stop for lunch.
Nice river at the back.
Lots of horses for rides.
Spa and hot tub facility available too. Totally self contained.
Only minus is the access road, very rugged! Apart from that highly recommended it.

Very impressed. Well run, organised, Spa is great. Just so lovely to be able to ride safely with my dog and take them both in the river together for a cool down after a hack. Accommodation is great also. Horse shower and three massive gas barbeques available to use. There are always improvements that can be made to make something absolutely perfect. Overall this place isn't very far off! I'm already hoping I can squeeze in another trip this year!!

We had the opportunity to stay at Magpie Cottages at the end of 2022 and we had a fabulous time. The accommodation is exactly what you want in a relaxing break. All the staff and owners are super helpful, welcoming and kind. We enjoyed the stay so much we also stayed again in early 2023! Definitely great value for money and the grounds, walks and area is fabulous. 10/10.

Go up
