I’ve travelled down to Wycombe from North Wales. I was greeted by a lovely lady who took payment and kindly showed me the room.
The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable. En suite was clean. Ample parking too.

The issues I had were the carpet and en suite floor were heavily stained. The kettle didn’t reach the plug socket. And the WiFi connection is very temperamental.

All that being said, I’ll be back in the summer.

The whole problem with this place was a lack of communication. Messages sent to the owner via phone and through the booking site (4 emails) were not answered and no info given re charges for pets. On arrival and after paying, the room was not suitable and the charge for the room was refunded eventually with difficulty despite having been paid 10 minutes previously in person by card. This involved me having to call the third party booking site, them having to call the owner (who wasn’t present), the owner having to call the person actually checking me in. All of this could have been avoided if they’d answered the phone or answered my emails. The lady on reception was fine, did what she could, not her fault at all. Can’t comment on the rooms as didn’t see beyond reception where I spent a good 45 minutes!

Gentlemen that looked after our bookings could not have been more helpful. A very pleasant guy. Rooms were tired however and needed a good clean up and paint. Bathroom window though small could not be opened, curtain rail held together with tape and generally tatty. Saying that the price charged was very reasonable and bed pillows and bedding was very clean and fresh. As long as the bed is clean , I guess I am happy.

When we arrived there was no immediate access and I had to phone somebody to allow us in. I was advised then there was no option to pay for breakfast. Not shown to our room basically given the key and told it was on the fist floor. On entering the room initial impressions were fair until we looked at the carpet that was very soiled, the bathroom had rusty bathroom accessories, the floor was stained and the shower had dark brown around the seals and the shower base and head were filthy. The bed basically had no working mattress as I would describe as though the springs grabbed your ribs when lying in it and you rolled to the middle and sank to the bottom. Finally when eventually getting 30 minutes sleep for the whole night woke up and realised the tea making facilities had no milk and a single coffee. The one positive was the bedding and towels were clean just a shame the bed wasn’t sleepable and the shower you wouldn’t wish to take the risk of getting god knows what disease.

Stayed here 3 nights in April 2023, hotel is described as 4 star but in all honesty would struggle to be a 1 star. When arriving had to telephone owner to get a key. Despite being booked for 2 people, only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel were made available. Tea and coffee sachets soon ran out and were not replaced, waste bin was not emptied, and only a quarter of a toilet roll in the bathroom again not replaced! Room not cleaned or tidied during our stay. In the bathroom was a shower and a half bottle of radox muscle soak bath foam left to use as shower gel.
Do not believe what you read on their website as I said, I have stayed in better 1 star hotels. No breakfast offered and flat screen tv in the room turned out to be 14 inch screen, too small to seen comfortably. Presumably we could have asked for things to topped up or emptied, but this should be done as standard not by request

Pros. Near the motorways so easy access to places.

Cheap

Heating on so was nice and warm.

Ok pub down the road and amenities near by.

Cons
Room was dirty. Dust on head boards etc. Had to use bath mat to dust down. shower not cleaned properly. Broken lamp with glass on the floor. (I was asked if I had done it or there before) I had been in the room 5 minutes. They didn't come back and hoover the floor in case. No apology and no new lamp brought up.
1 light out and curtain hanging down.
Walls are paper thin, and someone had tv on until 3 in the morning.
You hear every door bang.
Smell of food as you walk in the house.
Small TV that kept losing signal

Overall pretty poor. I wouldn't recommend unless you can sleep through a hurricane and only need it as a pit stop.

Says its a 4 star property. Not in my eyes

Thoroughly disappointed. On arrival couldn't get anyone to open the door. Eventually greeted by the owner who took payment and showed us to our room. There was a kettle, 2 coffee sachets and 1 teabag. No cups or milk!! The carpet could have done with hoovering. The bed was clean and the room spacious. On our way out for the evening we asked if they could top up the refreshments which he agreed he would do. On our return about midnight still none of the above mentioned so we couldn't even get something to drink and there was nobody about to assist. We will never go here again and would not recommend this place. The busy road outside was noisy. Also there was no breakfast although we were told we could find a cafe locally!!! Never saw any staff apart from the one man who checked us in.
