The lovely hosts accommodated me at very late notice as if it was no trouble at all. I stay in many places for work, but the personal service, spotless and comfortable rooms, and a perfect breakfast truly set this B&B apart. Their warm hospitality made all the difference. It’s an easy 5-star rating across the board—highly recommended!

Mariners is conveniently situated in the West Hoe area so easy to access walks along the seafront and up onto the Hoe and beyond. Very convenient and reasonable 24-hour parking closeby. The new owners gave us a very warm welcome, with drinks and snacks available in the dining room. Our room was clean and spacious. We were two adult friends, not a couple, so were glad to find a twin room. We enjoyed a comfortable night and a freshly-cooked breakfast on a flexible time-scale in the morning. Suited us perfectly.

I have stayed at the Mariners Guest House several time over the past nine months. James and Marie are wonderful hosts who have made me feel most welcome every time I have stayed. The rooms are decorated to a high standard, they all spotlessly clean and all have well-appointed clean ensuite bathrooms. Breakfast is served to you in the dining room, the cooked breakfasts and omelettes are superb and I highly recommend them, all cooked fresh to order with high quality ingredients. The Mariners Guest House is the best value guest house in Plymouth and I look forward to staying here again soon.

Usually I opt for hotels when I stay away from home and I hadn’t stayed in a guest house for a long time. I had forgotten about the welcoming touches and personal service you miss out on. At the Mariners James and Marie have a wonderful guest house and are genuine pleasant, kind and helpful hosts. During our stay in winter the twin room me and my daughter had was lovely and warm. It’s a clean comfortable and welcoming place with everything you need including a great breakfast with plenty of options. The location is great with plenty of hot spots near by. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you!!

The Mariners is immaculately clean, the beds comfortable and the breakfast is great with lots of choice. Great location, just off the Hoe. Marie and James can't do enough for you. Our daughter stayed with them whilst she started her first job and they looked after her so well. So kind and caring. We will definitely be staying again.

I stayed at Mariners Guest House 10 days on November the end up today. I am si happy with my residency with Mari and her husband. My room is excellent very very clean lightly and warm. The breakfast special and so tasty.I feel like I'm home.THANK YOU MARI FOR everything. Nice to you. Hopefully I will come again

I've been staying at the Mariners since just after Covid, at least once or twice a month. I think I've probably stayed at almost every guest house in the area as well as a number of hotels. Hands down i'd rather stay at the Mariners than anywhere else. It is always immaculately (almost obsessively) clean, tidy, super comfortable beds and much better equipped than you would expect from somewhere much more expensive. Big Smart TVs, free wifi and a breakfast that has done nothing for my waistline but is oh so hard to turn down. As a basically anti-social introvert, I found myself not only liking James and Marie but really looking forward to staying with them. On one occasion I turned up accidentally without a booking and even then, found a warm but not overbearing welcome, a clean, warm and beautifully made up room. I can say with absolute honesty, that given the choice between staying at a high priced multi star hotel and the Mariners, I'd stay at the Guest House every time.
