It's a really nice traditional fish and chip shop. It is spotlessly clean, bright, and airy. There is an excellent menu of traditional fish and chips plus kebab meat burgers and meat pies. A lot of the fish is cooked fresh to order. I called in for lunch, and the food was excellent and good value. The staff are very friendly. Highly recommended.

Went for a day trip in the area and called in for fish and chips on the way home. We were going to eat the food at the view point for the Humber suspension bridge. Food was lovely - great chips, tasty haddock and crisp batter - big sized portion as well but at no point did the lady who serve us offer us salt and vinegar! I unwrapped the first portion and added condiments and she never asked the second either! Curry sauce and mushy peas came in separate pots. A little awkward when eating Al fresco! Would I go here again? Yes. The food was good and reasonably priced. Also piping hot. Please offer customers salt and vinegar though! Apart from that, the lady who served us was extremely pleasant and chatty.

I travelled a 448 mile round trip from Southampton to see for my self what all the fuss was about!
I can definitely say it was worth every penny and the journey!

The Haddock and Chips, curry sauce, mushy peas and the doner meat are definitely the best I’ve ever had and I firmly believe this is the best chippy in the country!

The place was really busy yet highly efficient. The owner, Balwant, warmly greeted every customer and was so friendly. Amazing food and wonderful service. Will definately come back.

Expensive, not value for money. I had Sausage and chips £4.85, a few ? in a tray + the Sausage- Not going there again.

Ordered cod and chips as a treat and both pieces of cod seemed like they had been cut in half. The fish itself was a very odd texture, not at all white and flakey as they used to serve. Chips were pretty tasteless, all in all a bit of an expensive disappointment that mostly ended up in the bin.

I've been coming to Barton to visit my in laws for the past decade and have always raved about how good this place was. The last visit totally changed my mind. The fish was completely different. Instead of big chunks of fish, it was fine mushy flakes which were completely Bland.

They still give a decent portion of chips, but I suspect they're now using a cheaper alternative to haddock & Cod so I'll give it a miss next time I'm over.
