Held our daughters wedding and reception and the whole day ran like clockwork. Annette ensured everything was exactly as we wanted. The venue is fantastic and open gardens in the middle are beautiful where we had drinks after the ceremony and before the meal. The food was lovely big portions and all served quickly and hot. We had the toast master from the manor who was excellent keeping the day flowing very friendly and helpful. We also used Ally a photographer the venue recommended who was so nice and pictures we have seen so far are so good. The bar staff also were very good during the evening.

I had my wedding here August bank holiday and stayed 2 nights. The dinner they done for our wedding was delicious and the buffet for the evening was lovely. The portions were generous for both. The grounds were beautiful and maintained to a high standard. The breakfast was also good and needed! The service by all staff was amazing, a special thank you to Annette and Pacco who looked after me throughout my stay and made me feel so special for my wedding stay.

Good service and a unique building/setting for a hotel. The breakfast was nicely done (not too much or too little). The room was spacious but the bed was a little uncomfortable. Notably, the walls between rooms was extremely thin as I was able to hear.....everything happening in the room next door.

Afternoon Tea. Was bought an afternoon tea by my son Harry and his girlfriend Aimee for my 60th birthday. We travelled from Southend on sea to the marygreen Tudor hotel and were not disappointed. Beautiful hotel, staff friendly and helpful and the food was amazing!!! Sandwiches spot on, scones with strawberry preserve and clotted cream were lovely and the cakes beautiful. Large pot of tea was lovely.

Such a great venue to get married. So helpful and ridiculously hard working all day. Annette was going all day and night to make the day run smoothly. She was a fantastic help throughout the process from looking around the venue in the first instance, to giving us our key in the wonderful Catherine of Aragon suite at 1am (when we were the last people standing - none of our family checking us in!)|| Our toastmaster Steve (included in the package) was a godsend. He organised everything on the day and we met up with him beforehand which gave us lots of peace of mind.||So much character in the Samuel Pepsys Room and Henry VIII Suite. Gardens were so beautiful and in keeping with what we wanted.||The food was just perfectly sized, there was soooo much in the evening buffet we could have had double the number of guests.||Marygreen accommodated our choice to have a singer of our choosing alongside the package DJ so well.||Paco in the bar was tireless, changing barrels frequently and keeping the drinks flowing all night.||Top tip: if you need a photographer, use Ali's photography!

Arrived on the Saturday afternoon for stay with my elderly father as we were visiting family for a celebration local to area. Thought it would be treat as have been here before many times for weddings when lived in area. |Surprised first of all to have to be charged £150 for a room costing £109. Told it was because in case we used bar or food but even though we said we wouldn't. Never had this ever before anywhere.|Room was no7 which was hidden in corner of courtyard. No warning of very small step down into room which nearly took dad out. Then 3 steps up into room. No windows as stuck in corner only 2 big sky lights. 2 more steps up into bathroom could be issue during night visits. If you have mobility issues or would like fresh air avoid this room. On return from gathering decided to have small snack at bar and 2 drinks. Nice enough but very expensive. Especially drinks. £22 for 2 large whisky. Ridiculous. Paid cash for meal. Got to room tv not working. Guy came to look and cable was broken so as fully booked no solution to be had. Unlucky to have bad storm overnight so it was like sleeping on a caravan with heavy rain on sky light. Not much sleep. On checkout asked for balance refund to be told will take 3 to 4 days. Why. Reception not very sorry about our experience and just said, on your next visit to which o replied there won't be one. Very disappointing.

Very happy with this hotel. Was simply looking for somewhere to stay in this local area but all the major chains were booked so chose this venue simply because it was available. We are so glad that everywhere else was full and we stayed at Marygreen and preferred it to any of the major chains. It is quite unique with its medieval charm and friendly staff. Would recommend this hotel to others.
