Traveled 2 hours to bakewell on wat back saw this quant little fish n chip shop food was superb large cod cooked fresh and fresh chips whilst i waited and curry sauce for share with children . Best fish n chips ive had beats the seaside chippys and ones in birmingham. Def will be back in future

As we haven't used this chip shop before we weren't sure what to expect but our phone order was dealt with quickly by friendly staff,as was our delivery.
The fish, chips and mushy peas were the best we've had for a while so next time we are in Matlock,this is where we will go.

Food and overall experience will vary massively depending on the staff. It's a chippy, so you don't necessarily expect cheerful service, but some of the staff here are just outright rude and hostile. If they decide that they don't like the look of you (for whatever reason) expect to get overcharged (t*#t tax), and to be met with a sullen, hostile attitude. Staff attitude also seems to reflect the quality of the food that you'll likely get... coincidence?

On a good day with the right staff it's a different experience though.. the service is standard great British chippy, and the food can be excellent. Its a shame, this place would definitely be our local if it wasn't for the bad experiences. We recently decided it just wasn't worth the aggro going here anymore. Best of luck to them.

The best fish and chips we’ve had in a very long time. The fish was fresh, not greasy at all and the batter was beautifully crisp! Very tasty! The young lady that served us was really friendly and helpful. All 6 of us enjoyed our meal - thank you!
