Maya Blue Wellness is a best kept secret here considering its hidden in the underground of the Titanic Hotel in Stanley Dock. It is a true wellness sanctuary! I enjoyed the hydrotherapy pool, steam room, sanarium & foot bath. They have a sauna but I didn’t use it. Only subtraction to this great experience is that there aren’t herbal teas or fruits. I would like to suggest that such healthy hot or cold drinks and fruits ( dried or fresh) could be incorporated with a mark up on price for use of facilities.

It also has a decent gym.

If Little Britain had a spa...

As a qualified holistic therapist I can tell you the Maya Blue Wellness spa is an absolute shambles. Booked the Lighter Legs treatment - £60 for 40 mins and a £3 forced service charge pre-treatment, which is advertised as massage and exfoliation of the feet and lower legs.

The sole of the foot was brushed twice, pressure was too superficial, and we were rushed in and out so from being collected at reception to leaving the room it was less than 40 minutes. This left us feeling unsatisfied and not cared about. Also to get to the treatment room you also have to walk through the thermal suite with no overshoes where people are bathing.

I complained that the treatment was mediocre, rushed and not as advertised and the spa manager said she had reviewed the CCTV and gave very different timings to the ones we'd seen on our phones, actually trying to gaslight me.

Out of everything that was poor about the experience, this was the part that was unacceptable and unprofessional.

I escalated the complaint to the Titanic Hotel managers and even though they astonishingly confirmed that we'd been lied to, they said the inaccuracies were not significant, defended all the marketing and practices, and didn't offer anything more than free use of the thermal spa which is an unhygienic place, and a few pounds for the time missing off the undelivered treatments.

Not worth the £126, save your money and go somewhere else.

This was a unique experience. My husband and I got a 2 and a half hour package with Thermal, massage treatments on the face and back, with the wonderful ESPA product line. And finishing with a delicious lunch at the Titanic Hotel. It was all worth it.

“My sister and I went for a spa treatment. While my experience was perfect as always, my sister’s experience was shocking. She booked a deep tissue massage, only to be told aggressively by the therapist, ‘This is not a sports massage.’ What followed was an extremely soft massage that felt more like petting.

I raised this issue with the receptionist, who was apparently the assistant manager, and was promised a follow-up. However, three days later, I still haven’t been contacted. It’s a perfect location, but sadly, the experience was disappointing.”

Clean and well maintained, compact spa. It could have had an extra pool for sure. Otherwise it’s nice. The only major problem is the noise. Bricks do resonate the sound, so you can hear people talking from every corner, especially when they’re loud and inconsiderate . At one point it was so overwhelming, and very difficult to relax . Also teens making tiktoks, videos and selfies despite the policy.

I was given a pregnancy package voucher at my baby shower and booked to relax and wind down. I was really unimpressed with the massage. It says 55 mins on voucher and the massage was so rushed I was in and out within 35 mins. The massage itself was not great although I’m pregnant I was asked what I wanted to concentrate on and I felt like the girl barely touched me and if anything felt more uncomfortable during the treatment. The facilities are lovely but again not good for pregnant woman the pool is gorgeous however there are jets and fountains on near enough every side post of the pool so I couldn’t really sit and enjoy. I have been to titanic and stayed overnight before and enjoyed it but coming back pregnant can honestly say I would not recommend to pregnant women.

Had such a lovely time today at this spa, the reception staff (Lucy) are so friendly and helpful. The spa itself is gorgeous, lovely dimmed lighting, warm pool and fab showers/facilities. My treatment was completed by Molly, Senior Therapist and it was sheer bliss; she's very talented. The products smelled incredible, I drifted in and out of sleep for the whole thing and I feel the most relaxed I ever have 🤣 this spa is Liverpools best kept secret. I recommend the 85 minute back, face and scalp treatment - worth every penny!
