Stayed at Mays Cottage after attending a wedding at South Downs Manor on Satruday 21st September 2024. Zoe was very welcoming and nothing seemed too much trouble. Room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfy, and it was nice and quiet despite being off a main road. I had a good nights sleep. The breakfast was amazing and set me up pefectly for the three hour drive home. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who needs to stay in teh area. Great value for money at £85 for the night including breakfast, which was bought to me in my room. Overall a very excellent experience.

Visiting relatives and a good position between the two. Room was very clean, very comfortable bed, water very hot and plentiful. Speedy WiFi. Continental breakfast was choice of 3 cereals, tea or coffee, big bowl of fresh fruit, yogurt, croissants were fresh and possibly home made. Toast. All served in the room. At this property you can come and go as you please because it's self contained, and not in the main house. Zoe was very friendly and welcoming. Certainly more homely than a Premier Inn and great value with the breakfast.

I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Had a great one night stay here. Arrived to find a lovely cool room , With plenty of space, a good sized bed and a small en-suite.|My husband has dietary restrictions and Zoe kindly made arrangements to suit him with the plentiful continental breakfast . |Only slight problem we did find it difficult to find, so drive slowly along London Road, if coming from A 3 end , drive past the Half Moon pub, only a few minutes walk from Mays Cottage, over the river and it’s first turning on the right. Parking is plentiful, we pulled on to the long driveway. Will happily stay here again if we are in the area.

Absolutely lovely place to stay, rooms are very clean and tidy and fab bathroom.
Better if you have your own transport.
Lovely breakfast, 2 trays !! Very filling and fresh.
Zoe the host is very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
Would highly recommend a stay here, and we would definitely return.

We stayed at May's Cottage last night and liked the room a lot - all very well maintained as if it was new. Zoe was a gem of a host and fabulously helpful from start to finish, especially when our Uber driver stood us up. Her breakfast was a lovely treat and gave us the energy for our third leg of the South Downs Way. Thank you!

I could not have asked for better really! Zoe was such a lovely host and really made me feel at home. She let me meet her lovely little dogs upon request too, and they definitely brought a smile. Very clean room with the comfiest bed I've ever slept in! Lovely bathroom. The only minor fault with the room was that the flush on the toilet was a little weak and it did take a few attempts to flush.

The location isn't ideal for someone who doesn't drive. It's a half hour walk to town and the train station, and it's not the easiest walk with having to cross very busy main roads. There was a little noise from traffic, but it was quiet through the night when I was sleeping, so that's the main thing. There are some conveniences nearby like a pub and garage with a shop which is about a 15 min walk.

I'd definitely stay again if I was in the area!

Had a fantastic stay at Mays B and B last night. The room was spotless, cosy and very comfortable. Zoe and her husband are lovely and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was extremely generous and tasty. We slept very well- it was so quiet and peaceful. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights and we couldn't have wished for a better experience. The room was very clean,bathroom was modern and clean as well with hand sanitizer available.I really liked the underfloor heating,especially after a long walk in the rain.The breakfast was amazing,very generous, was always warm and fresh.The accommodation is close to Petersfield centre in a quiet location, even though it's next to the main road we could sleep without any problems. There was a nice garden area which we couldn't enjoy due to heavy rains but we will be definitely staying here again in the future if we are in the area. Zoe and her husband were both welcoming and very friendly.I would 100% recommend staying here!
