McCrae's BnB is clean, well-appointed, and has a great breakfast. Plenty of towels, etc.|The best thing about McCrae's is the host, Jonathan, who was very friendly and helpful. It's a 10 minute walk to shops and (very good) restaurants. We recommend it highly.

One of the best accomodations I have ever stayed in.
Location is within 20-30 mins of walking distance to the center.
Rooms are perfectly clean and cozy. Very comfortable beds as well.
The host is absolutely amazing. He makes you feel very welcomed to his home and gives you just a good feeling.
He prepares a nice breakfast, though I believe that some might say there is cheese or eggs missing. However, in my view the breakfast is 5/5 because of the high quality of food that John provides (oat milk, self-made brownies, ...).
There is a TV that offers all sorts of streaming services such as Disney+, Netflix, Amazon, you name it. The wifi sometimes sucked a little bit.
But thats really just nitpicking. The stay was an outright 5/5. Thanks a lot John and greetings from Germany.

Perfectly located on a quiet cobbled street just out of the main hustle and bustle of Edinburgh. Within walking distance of bars, restaurants and attractions. The B and B itself is characterful, comfortable, well appointed with spacious rooms, plenty of tea and coffee and good breakfast options. John is a great host. We would recommend and return.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at McCrae's Bed and Breakfast in Edinburgh. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the warmest hospitality by our host, John, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.The location is outstanding, situated in a charming and convenient area that allowed us to easily explore the beautiful city of Edinburgh.
Whether you're here for the history, the culture, or simply to unwind, you'll find that McCrae's is the perfect base.Our room was immaculately clean and incredibly comfortable, with beds that ensured a restful night's sleep after our daily adventures.
Each morning, we were treated to a delightful breakfast with a wide variety of options to choose from, catering to all tastes and preferences. The quality of the food was excellent, and it was the perfect way to start our day.
McCrae's offers everything you could hope for in a bed and breakfast—a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and outstanding service. We highly recommend staying here and can't wait to return on our next trip to Edinburgh.

The four of us really enjoyed our stay at John's bnb. Both rooms were spacious, and clean with amazingly comfortable beds.|Breakfasts were a variety of delicious organic foods. One friend especially appreciated the delicious teas! The location is cental and most of the time we walked to the sites. Thank you, John, for your warm hospitality and helpful advice.

John's place is the ideal B&B. Now, you might want to stay in Old Town but I'd argue John's is a better location. This super comfortable place is a quick walk (or tram) to Old Town but much quieter and relaxing. ||The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The bed was dreamy. ||John is a marvel. He's the ideal host and the breakfasts cannot be beat. ||10/10

Amazing experience and John is an excellent host. The room was perfect for the days we were there and the breakfast was really nice (you need to ask for the English muffin with eggs and bacon, absolutely delicious). Also, the BnB is close to the center of the city.
