I had a fantastic sleep at this hotel. Very comfortable bed and duvet covers. Slept for more than 8 hours and can't remember the last time I did that. The staff were very friendly, the room and bathroom were very clean and there was a good selection of teas, coffees and biscuits. We appreciated having water available as we didn't have any drinks with us and arrived quite late and tired. ||We also ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious. My son had macaroni cheese. I tried some and it was lovely. I had a burger meal which was juicy and tasted great. The chips were golden and crispy. I felt the quality and portion sizes were well worth the money. I also enjoyed a couple of Pina coladas. These were great.||The only reason it loses half a star for me is that I couldn't get the cold tap in the bath to work and so had to fill up cold water from the shower for a bath for my son. We also couldn't get the TV to work in the morning but thankfully the WiFi was good so I used BBC Iplayer on my tablet for my son to watch Cbeebies whilst I got ready. It would also be great to have some smaller breakfast options (such as bacon rolls) available as my husband wasn't feeling up to a full breakfast due to the meds he's on (which reduces his appetite). Paying for a breakfast for him, even continental, would have been wasted on him at the price.||Overall, a very good stay and would definitely return.

After returning two years on from our last visit for meals we are so glad that our party of 7 did. We visited on two occasion this week for the Sunday and also the standard menu. The quality of food and standard of service were exceptional. A big thank you to you all. Highly recommended.

Really loved dining here, we did not stay in the hotel so cant comment on the rooms. We enjoyed our dinner so much we went back for dinner a second night.
Our host Peter and all the staff were really lovely, food was delicious and generous servings, great atmosphere.

Stayed here for 2 nights and would thoroughly recommend. When we arrived Liz welcomed us and immediately gave us the impression that our comfort and enjoyment was the hotel’s priority.

We stayed in room 1 (family room) and were very pleased; beds were clean and comfortable, lots of tea/coffee/water/biscuits and fresh clean en-suite.

Dinner in the restaurant was lovely. Peter and the front of house team were attentive (without being pushy about up-selling), friendly and relaxed. Peter definitely glides like an elegant swan (who is busily peddling away to keep the show running smoothly) as he checks on guests and manages the busy dinner service. We were charmed by his hospitality and personality.

This is a real gem of a place! Lovely accommodation, nice food and great people. Liz really is the star of the show (in my opinion)…from the moment we arrived to the moment we left she gave her heart and soul. I am so grateful for the conversations that we had. Thanks Liz x 😍

Beautiful older hotel, with a bar and restaurant attached. Warm and helpful host and chef. Our room was unfortunately on an upper floor (one of us has mobility issues) but our host kindly carried our bags up and down for us. We had a fantastic meal in the restaurant; perfectly cooked fish, and the most delicious warm citrus pudding for dessert. The quaint town with a beautiful old church, nice cafes and a few shops is minutes away, and the train station is within easy walking distance. Highly recommend!

My wife and Daughter stayed there one night 23rd Nov 24. Both rated the hotel very highly and particularly the hotel restaurant where they had dinner. Huge thank you to Rory and Liz for excellent customer service. We would definitely return there and highly recommend to anyone looking for great hotel, fabulous food and a warm highland welcome.

We went for dinner (were not staying at the hotel). The steak pie was delicious, as was the rhubarb sponge cake. The young service staff was superb - excellent attention to the customer! Charming decor and space. We hope to return in a couple of days!

I stayed for seven nights and ate in the hotel every evening. The hotel was quiet at night. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable and spacious. The food was well cooked and I enjoyed every meal. The hotel is handily situated on the main Kingussie high street, close to the shops, and parking at the hotel is easy. I would return.
