Becoming my second home. Lovely owners always pull out the stops for me. Clean, tidy and very good size double room. Always feel very welcome, I go for the peace its in such a lovely location down a country lane close to shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes. Take a morning stroll down to the lane and around the Brickcroft Nature Reserve, nip across the road to the most amazing little bakery (Croft Bakery) I always come out with more than I should. Plenty of parking space, large dining/lounge area and kitchen. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately for us, we only had a one night stay at this great B & B, whilst we were visiting relatives in Southport. So glad we chose to make the short drive to stay at Meadowside Castle. ||Lisa is a fantastic host, very friendly and as others have said nothing is too much trouble and it is quite obvious how much she cares about the B & B and ensuring everyone enjoys their stay. We were welcomed with tea and biscuits in the spacious lounge (there are also tea and coffee facilities in the room). The room was very clean with a comfortable bed and everything you needed. Breakfast was delicious with cereals, fruit, yoghurts etc and a freshly cooked full English breakfast made from local ingredients. ||It is ideally situated in a lovely country lane, yet it is only a 10 minute walk to a good choice of places to eat and drink.||Thanks Lisa we will certainly stay again when we are next in the area!

Stayed here on my own on a biz trip and couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Lisa, the owner, was welcoming, super friendly, full of tips on where to go and made me feel like a guest in her home rather than a customer. She even agreed to let a courier deliver and collect an event stand to her before my arrival and after my departure. Superb location in the heart of a nature reserve - a walk around nearby lakes provided a much needed leg stretch after a long journey. Garden of this B&B is beautiful, filled with wild flowers, statues, a (secret) walled garden, large pond and two ducks who return every year. Such is the warm welcome Lisa provides! Great choice of cereals, eggs every which way or even a full English for breakfast. A cosy communal lounge was a surprise and lovely addition to this guest house. Wish I was with my partner, he would have loved the tranquility of this place. I slept soundly both nights as it’s so quiet. Had dinner two nights in a row at The Ego @Fox Cub gastro pub. Perfect venue for a delicious meal and a spot of people watching in the garden. Oh, I haven’t mentioned the bakery at the end of the lane - with huge, fresh cream cakes - Eccles cakes were flying out of the door when I visited. Icing on the cake - the view from my room out to the back garden. Waking up to it was like looking at a Monet painting. Miss it already.

So welcoming as soon as we arrived. The room was very clean and fresh. Lisa made us a pot of tea and asked us to join her in the lounge. Lovely lady that told us about local places to eat our evening meal at. Breakfast was better than any hotel we have eaten at, Would highly recommend this B & B.

What a lovely B&B. A warm welcome into a spotless home. Beds were so comfortable - we all slept really well. Breakfast choice was extensive, including a preferred time to eat. Sausage, bacon and eggs all locally sourced and delicious. It just made our daughter's graduation weekend perfect and we wouldn't hesitate to come back.

My family and I stayed here over a weekend celebrating a family wedding, and Lisa really went the extra mile to look after us all. The rooms were comfortable and the cooked breakfast was fabulous! Lisa is friendly and accommodating and we would definitely stay here again. An excellent find!

Lovely b&b in longton near Preston. My room was very nice, nicely decorated and it was clean and tidy and had a large tv, coffee/tea making facility's and a comfy bed, although it only had a on suite shower it was a nice big shower which was nice and hot and again was very clean, there is also a lounge room which is downstairs from the rooms which you was welcome to use. Breakfast was a choice of continental or cooked or both, each had a good selection. Lisa the hostess of the b&b was very welcoming and friendly and was always available if any problems occurred (which they didn't). I look forward to staying here again as I would and would recommend anyone else too!!

Stayed one night. ||Our room was a little on the small side but ok for a one night stop over. ||Lisa is very welcoming. ||Good breakfast. ||You have to order the night before the cooked breakfast, but that is not a problem. You can have any combinations you want.||There's cereal and fruit and yoghurt. ||Lisa cooks the breakfast so it is fresh.||There's no precision time keeping, as said by a previous reviewer.....but when you're away you want to escape the treadmill don't you||||The gardens are lovely. ||||No credit cards are accepted, but Lisa is clear about this when you book so don't be surprised.
