Stayed here a year ago and just stayed at sister resort Seal Bay and had completely forgotten to write a review a year ago.

Having just stayed at Seal Bay and now being able to compare the 2 sites we much prefer Medmerry and would have returned again if they’d have been open.

Firstly, Medmerry is actually dog friendly not just sold online but actually is! FREE dog washing station with shampoo etc, FREE agility park which is brilliant, and dogs actually allowed in areas of the on site restaurant/pub along with poop bags, treats awaiting in the accommodation and bowls can be requested at reception if needed too.

Direct beach access, great service, friendly staff, brilliant service in the pub, and lots and lots of loyal Medmerry guests who we remember speaking too saying they’ve visited for years and years and there’s no where else so dog friendly like it.

We only left to eat out once at Billy’s on the sea ( think from memory the name) 10/10 food was brilliant fish and chips pictured in my review. Defintely worth booking in advance and dog friendly too!

We absolutely loved our visit this time last year and would definitely have come back this year- hoping you’ll be open again next year

Unsafe park, inadequate sea defences!
This park is dangerous. The sea defences are not sufficient for this park, on the 9th April 2024 on the 1st night of our holiday we were awoken to the sea coming into our chalet and our car floating away.

I had to get myself, 2 children and dog out of the accommodation in chest high water and find high ground which was the mezzanine level of a restaurant. It took the life guard service 6 hours to get my family to safety.

I would never stay here again, it just isn't safe

Having had a lovely stay last year, on the day we left, we booked for 29th June 2024. We then saw that the site had been flooded, anyone who has stayed here, will know how far away the sea is and the stoney bank you have to climb!|They advised on their website they would contact everyone whose booking was affected. I received a call, which I was given a choice of moving the holiday at no extra cost to a future date or a refund. As it was going to be my son's 18th, we decided to have a full refund. We received this promptly as promised. The staff were very apologetic and friendly, I expect they received many negative responses, whoever I don't think anyone, could have predicted how far the sea would come, that night. I wish them well for the reopening.

Having just returned from a four day break and was blown away with this park, the friendly and well informed staff and quality and price of the food in the restaurant was second to none. It is a must if you are a dog owner where they are catered for so well, and the accommodation was spotless and cosy, would highly recommend. So close to the beach.

The staff in the restaurant were incredibly friendly and helpful, bringing our friend’s dog (Maple) treats and ensuring our needs were catered for. |The food was excellent and very tasty and quite good value for money. |We visited our friends while had travelled down from Scotland and who were staying in a chalet over the Easter week several times and ate in the restaurant every time. As locals we will definitely come back to eat even without our friends.

Lovely clean lodge good for a couple but we felt it would be too small for 4 adults as only one bathroom and nowhere to hang clothes in the 2nd bedroom .Also the sofa would only fit 3 people ,although there was a separate chair
The restaurant was modern and bright and our meal on the first night was lovely .We were disappointed that there was a breakfast menu online but we were told they didn't start that until Easter weekend .This should have been explained beforehand also went for a takeaway on the last night only to be told they could only serve pizzas as they didn't have boxes for any other meals shame as I would have preferred fish and chips .
Overall its a fantastic place to stay with a dog and ours enjoyed the walks and enclosed area .The lodges are very close to each other and I would imagine in peak season there wouldn't be much privacy .The location was brilliant

Please do not go here. We could have been killed on Monday night when the sea breached the flood defences! Although cove holidays were very good at re homing us it doesn’t take away the fact that our car has been written off and many other items. There was very little help on the night until the coast guard arrived. As the previous review said: no emergency lighting or meet up place etc.

We had an absolutely perfect time. We stayed for 3 nights from Friday to Monday in August. Myself, my husband and our 2 dogs. It's so dog friendly. The beach is so close. And the chalets were so spacious. The decking was massive and enclosed so the dogs couldn't escape and could enjoy being outside with us without being tethered. The agility park was so much fun and the grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The staff were genuinely lovely and we couldn't have asked for a better time. Thanks especially to Lorraine and Anthony, you 2 made us feel very welcome so thank you and we can't wait to come back!☺️
