I stayed just the one night, for an early flight at Gatwick airport.||I was made to feel welcome and really liked the simple but quality feel of my single room. ||A taxi was arranged for me for 3.45AM - the driver was there right on cue.||Sadly, I had to miss the breakfast, but I was provided with some orange juice to enjoy early in the morning. ||The car parking was very reasonably priced for the week - quite a lot less than parking at the airport, I dare say.||I enjoyed staying here, so I am happy to recommend this guest house 🙂

Stayed at the Melville Lodge the night before flying out for our holiday. Proprietor Bryan was very welcoming at check in and room was nice, clean and warm. Had a lovely night's sleep. Breakfast was a tad on the early side for our flight (7.30-8.30) but was very tasty and we were given a selection of English breakfast and branded cereals. Bryan was also very helpful in directing us to the bus to get to Gatwick Airport.

we stayed at Melville Lodge the night before a morning flight from Gatwick airport. Brian and Farida were very welcoming, the room was clean and breakfast was ample and delicious. booking and communication prior to arrival were excellent. i highly recommend Melville Lodge!

No reason not chose. Owners are most helpful and genuinely friendly. The full English Breakfast is real nice. Car parking for the duration of your vacation is on site and only a 5 min (subject to traffic) £5 taxi ride to the terminals.||So if you are looking for a no fuss stay.....you have just found it!

Stayed here a number of times now. It's a good location, the hosts are nice and friendly, breakfast is good and it's a nice place. Modest is one way to put it, honest and homely is another. Clean and tidy every time I've been there. No complaints.

I was amazed when I read this review below while looking for the phone no for Melville lodge which we had mislaid
We have stayed with Farida and Brian at Melville lodge once or twice a year for the last 21 years the rooms and service and breakfast are 1st class that’s why we keep coming back. It’s a shame the person who wrote the previous review didn’t stay at Melville lodge as you can see the names don’t match and there is no way Farida can be Brian’s mother (sorry brian)
