Location was great, central to shops and restaurants and across from the train station. Rooms were ok, a little loud (could hear my neighbours like we were in the same room), and they were a little dated. I asked for something and they did not offer to bring to the room and made me go to reception to get it which was not very pleasant but overall a good hotel.

Receptionist was amazing, the room was clean and easy to find. All of the rooms there are lovely and it's very easy to access. The rooms on floor 4 were the best in my opinion as one had a sofa in though, and it would have been nice to have a bit of Aircon because I woke up with a sore throat.
Other than that, great experience, staff are just the best here, it makes check in and check out so much quicker and easier to do. I would highly recommend over other places in Exeter!

I have just stayed at the Mercure Rougemont Exeter hotel for 9 days and all I can say is that it was the most wonderful hotel experience I have ever had. I can honestly say we felt like part of the family while we were there. My colleagues and I were there for work and every single person who works at this hotel was incredible! Jake, the manger was extremely helpful and welcoming, Kara and Rachel on reception, along with all the other front of house team were fabulous! They greeted us every day as friends, nothing was too much trouble and while I was there it was my birthday and they went above and beyond to make me feel special while I was away from home. The team at breakfast and the housekeeping team were lovely and although I was looking forward to getting home, I was also sad to leave the team and the hotel behind. I would fully recommend this hotel to everyone and when I am down in Exeter again I will not be staying anywhere else.

Fabulous venue with even more fabulous staff! We booked this venue for a business stay along with delivering training for 3 days. From the moment you walk into Reception, you are greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. The rooms were spacious and clean which is always a plus when staying away from home. Within our package we ordered lunch along with tea & coffee for breaks. My colleague who is gluten intolerant was taken care for daily and even sourced gluten free cakes for her. Jake and his team went above and beyond to look after the team - for this I am extremely thankful for. The hotel is in a great location close to shops and restaurants and even facing the train station making the location super convenient. Overall amazing experience and a fabulous team working. Massive thank you again for looking after us. I look forward to returning whether on business of personal.

The hotel is very convenient for shopping and dining in Exeter, it is directly opposite Exeter Central Station. Very comfortable bed and rooms are clean. Good value if you book early although the cost of breakfast is pricey.|The only comment on the room is the light switch turns on the main light and bedside lamps at the same time, and the main light is very bright. Would be better if you could switch them on separately. And the bathroom fan continues for a very long time after the light switch has been turned off.|Otherwise a good stay!

Upon opening my door I was greeted with a cold room in which the radiator wasn’t even turned on.
The room and bathroom was very clean.
On my final night there was a disco of some sort in one of the function rooms, this kept me awake until 1AM, this was very inconvenient as i had a very important day ahead of me, nothing was mentioned to me when booking about an event taking place on this day.
Overall a nice place but i am a little disappointed about the coldness of the room.

Beautiful hotel, excellent location and wonderful staff. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on that. |The very friendly and helpful Canadian lady at reception surely upgraded us to a Privilege Room, as we had the most fantastic room at a bargain price!|Huge room: robes, slippers, espresso machine, mini-fridge, massive corner bath, plush armchairs - the lot. |We called ahead regarding parking and were informed of a party in progress - and alternative parking - but we were lucky enough to get a spot. |It was £12.50 for 24hrs, which is very cheap in Exeter. You can come and go but only one charge (my friend had to nip to the office).|Yes - it’s a little tired in places, but certainly not shabby - it’s an old building and has great character. |There’s a spacious lift. We had no issues with noise (even though we were at the front) and were offered earplugs as the party was pretty loud, but finished at 8. |Plenty of hot water, good pressure. |Bed was superb, as were the pillows and bedding. Plenty of towels. |Temperature was spot on. |Good amount of mirrors, lights, surfaces, hanging room, storage and plug points. Ironing board, iron & hairdryer in room. |Shame we were there for just one night - but we’re local so will be back!|Thank you to all at The Rougemont (especially Ms Canada) for making our stay perfect!

My partner and I stayed here for a few days and we enjoyed it, the bed was nice and comfy, the room was slightly hot but we did have a fan in the room which we used. The bathroom was nice as was the shower, the room had everything in it that we needed. We had breakfast and evening meal which was very nice. The staff were very professional and friendly. The history of the hotel was very interesting to us. The hotel looked very beautiful inside and we would stay here again. Really had a good time.
