I’ve just returned from my second stay at this fantastic hotel, and once again it was a brilliant experience. I travelled solo from Ireland for the World Snooker and stayed in room 114 for five nights. The room was perfect — spotlessly clean, very quiet, and extremely comfortable. I couldn’t fault it.||The bar was a lovely place to unwind. Matty behind the bar is an absolute gentleman — very welcoming, knowledgeable, and calm, even during busy times. He also makes a fantastic cocktail!||A special mention must go to Ferial, the night manager. Having worked in hotels for four years myself, I can say she is one of the best I’ve ever met. She has such a warm, professional way about her and truly made my stay memorable. She also poured the best pint of Guinness I’ve ever had in England!||Overall, I had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to return. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making my trip so enjoyable.

Have stayed here on multiple occasions and always found it awesome. Great location smack in the middle of town, great food, facilities and rooms. Staff are great too - not to single one person out but on my latest visit for work Angel who works in the bar, really went the extra mile in terms of looking after customers, with a great attitude, engagement and sense of humour. She is a real credit to the hotel. Highly recommended

First off if I went on the other reviews I would have not came here, the hotel is old but it’s lovely and cosy, the staff are super friendly, and the rooms are very comfortable. Hotel bar is lovely too. Stayed here for the snooker, great location very central. They also provide a gluten free selection for breakfast, not a lot but it was enjoyable. I would stay here again

Mercury Spa and treatments are First Class for that City afternoon break... so relaxing. Great staff in restaurant and Spa.|Was a lovely afternoon tea followed by massage and treatments for my daughters birthday. Worth every penny, both thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely go again.

stayed for a 6 night stay because I had tickets booked for a snooker seniors tournament at the crucible which is just across the square from the hotel so the hotel is perfectly placed for anyone going to the Crucible. I had a good time apart from an issue with the aircon being noisy which kept me awake through half of the second night i was their but I politely informed the staff who were very helpful in sorting it out. food wise the morning buffy tasted lovely and if I do come again I am going to include the breakfast again. also the staff are very friendly and polite.

This hotel has an enviable location in Sheffield's City Centre...no taxi needed...all you need on the doorstep, and lovely views of the Peace Gardens should you have a room on the correct side. I would rate it 10/10, but with the weather being really warm during our stay, our room was unbearably hot what with the air conditioning being non-existant and the cooling fan useless. We had(floor-to-ceiling) windows, which are nice, but on this occassion, acted as a glasshouse, and this did impact negatively on our stay. All the staff here are lovely and friendly, but a special mention to Robin and Amanda on Reception, who go 'above and beyond' to make you feel welcome and your custom appreciated...they both are an asset to this hotel, and them alone are a huge reason why we will be returning next year.

Stayed with work for 1 night, the location was brilliant right in the centre of Sheffield and walking distance to anywhere! The room was a decent size and very clean, bathroom was adequate and had a very powerful walk in shower. Only slight issue I had was my tv wasn’t working but only a minor issue for myself.

Have stayed here several times before, but must say the hotel is looking a little tired and ready for a refurb. I was initially allocated an accessible room - which I had no need of and hadn't requested. I asked to swap to a standard room as it reminded me of hospital, and this was done with no problem. Later in the evening I realised the air-conditioning wasn't working and asked, if it wasn't fixable, could I have a fan, but no fans were available. The lid was broken on the kettle, there was a blood stain on the armchair and an "Odd" smell in the room (Presumably stale air due to lack of air-con.) I want to stress that the staff are probably the hotels greatest asset, nothing is too much trouble, but Accor need to wake up as there's plenty of competition nearby.
